Is this a vampire exploit?

The video taker has no CC on their bar and is doing mostly light attacks.... The sorcerer being attacked is very defensive (nothing wrong with that) which is why it took so long for them to kill you.

I think anyone can outheal/shield anyone if you don't use any CC/debuff/burst.

oh, and to comment on the video description. Armor/resist reduction does nothing against damage shields, damage shields already take full damage. (you can't reduce 0 armor/resists)
I'm aware of that, I meant that she was simply taking 123 from it while the shields were off which is less than half the damage it typically does to a dk in heavy armor with Razor Armor up. The tooltip damage on my ransack is 426 which would imply that this person has a 65-70% damage mitigation with no shields on. I can see the shield stacking and what not but I'm talking about the little amount of damage the person is taking while the shields are down. Such as the 243 critical charge at 43 seconds in, which would do 600-900 to anyone else.

wards don't feed magika if the attacks are physical and don't reduce said dmg. Not sure what's happening here

Although the tooltip reads "Restores Magicka each time player absorbs Spell Damage," the reality is that it restores magicka from physical damage, such as caltrops, light and heavy bow attacks, etc.

The guy in the video is a known exploiter of the Mist Form Exploit. There is an exploit (which I wont share) that allows vampires to utilize the mist form 75% damage reduction with none of the other trade-offs and still play normally.

I don't even bother attacking the guy any more, he's pure garbage anyways but I've seen 5 people pound on him with his shields down and he wouldn't go down. I get him from time to time but it's never worth the effort. I hit people with 3000 spell resistance for full damage yet I always hit him for 25% of my normal damage.

@ZOS_BrianWheeler‌ any chance on getting the combat team to look at this? I can share the exploit with you via a game message/email if your team is unaware of it. This has been going on for some time.

    I see no exploiting.

Running a build like yours, you are never going to get through the shields of someone that focuses on keeping them up.

For starters, put a CC on your bar for Christ sake. If you intend to run around with no CC at all on your bar, do no try to fight a Sorc.

I hate to be so direct here, but the problem is you not an exploit.

Let me return the favor. First, the reason there is no cc on my bars is because I'm testing different abilities and how they work together for new builds, this has nothing to do with the damage output on the target. Second, you must be blind to not see that their shields do go and they continue to mitigate over 70% of the damage I would normally do, not to mention a light attack w/ my stats would do well over 200 damage non crit on shields since they do not take armor into account. I already pointed out the shields come down 43 seconds in and 1:35 in. I have another clip of her taking 18 damage from an execution when under 10% hp out of mist form and no shields.

You don't know what you're talking about. I'm a PVP Rank 30 Sorc that runs a triple shield build and I know exactly how much damage they can absorb. He takes 75% damage no matter if his shields are up or down and no matter his spell resistance.

He's been exploiting this and other game mechanics since day 1, I was actually coming here to complain about just that since it has been going on so long when I saw someone beat me to the punch.

I'm betting that you're seeing damage numbers after the "absorb", if an attack is 80% absorbed it'll also give you a number of 20% damage being done.

You are not going to beat shield stacking with light attacks.

Beating shield spamming is all about burst. Light attacking isn't going to get it done.

If you want a demonstration of how to obliterate a shield then watch the last 30 seconds or so of your video. Instead of light attacking your blazing shield he obliterated it with a crystal frag and then soul assaulted you.

tooltip damage on that ransack is 420 and about 740 on the wrecking blow I believe.

This is not the first video I see someone taking WAY less damage than it should (i.e. that Templar's against 30, blinding batz I think the video was called).
OP is right, the damage is too low when the shields are down.

In both videos the damage pretty much seems like 75% less than normal, so Mist Form has probably something to do with this.
Please Devs, keep an eye on this.

Does it just seem like 75% less damage or is it exactly 75% less damage?

Mist form reduces damage by exactly 75% regardless of armor/resists.

Anyone who doesn't believe that can go test it.

So if it's reducing damage to .25 of the tooltip then I'd say it's something to do with mist form, otherwise it's probably something else.

There's also a few item sets that reduce pvp damage by 5%... and of course annulment (though that's only going to affect spells)

As I said, this exploit for 100% certain exists and anyone who is a vamp can do it. It's only a matter of time before it becomes widespread and there is another sorc who runs with him who does it as well now.

I've also seen this guy jump the slaughterfish infested lake to the island of cyrodiil, healing to 100% health every time he left the water with me attacking him with ranged the whole time. He did it multiple times as did his friend. No idea on that one.

Thankfully he's just an all around bad player, if you took away the mistform exploit he'd die constantly and he only ever gets a kill from soul assault.

This would be a wonderful opportunity for a dev to come and 3 Key things.

    1. "We are aware of this issue and are working on a fix"
    2. "The use of this exploit will not be tolerated and those who use it will face suspension"
    3. "Please report anyone that you suspect is exploiting"

We always get 1 and 3, will we get number 2 this time? Because without number 2 there is no enduring reason why all of us should not get bitten today and use this exploit.

Well you can hide while in combat if there were no lasting abilities cast (healing/dots) most of the time, but you cannot mount. Such as when you kill a person you can re-stealth but you cannot mount up and be considered out of combat until they release or about a minute after their death.

    So pls stop complaining.

It is not entirely broken. There are aspects of it that are and certainly some tweaks needed to such things as BE and effectiveness of stam builds, but PULLEEEZE with the "entirely broken" qq. (and just so you know my main is a NB with plenty of reason to cry and moan.)

ZOS obviously is executing their plan as planned. They have goals and teams delegated to achieving them, just as they likely have a team or two dedicated to bug and balance fixes. They are not going to abandon other projects just to fix some of the balance issues. If a content team gets a project finished ZOS is supposed to what? Not put it in the game until your satisfied with PvP issues? LOL

Yeah I'm not as worried about him as much as what happens when a good player with no scruples learns how to do it. The only reason it has taken so long for someone to complain is because the player is just not very effective at anything other than exploiting to stay alive.

We all get excellent bonuses against vampires so it all works out in the end.
