    OK TMC, here is your first case:

    Scroll in a bit on your map of Cyrodiil while looking a little southeast of Sejanus Outpost. You will see a small body of water with two long skinny extensions like horns. If you go there you may, like me, see a ghost walking about from a distance. I couldn't get close enough to talk to it. The area is littered with bones, some kind of mammoth graveyard perhaps.

    Any idea what this area is? I am not aware of any quest for this particular spot, but I may have missed it somehow.

    When approaching the prison in Shadowfens I spotted something pop up, look at me and vanish under the water again. It came up as a Nereid in the display.

    There are no Nereids in Shadowfens.
    So they raised the floor and lowered the ceiling. Except the ceiling has spikes in it now and the floor is also lava.

    Yeah, this is exactly what I was reminded of, but in Shadowfen it turns out that
    these sightings are a tease for the group dungeon Arx Corinium that features a quest which does involve nereids. I saw the randomly-appearing-from-a-distance-nereid near that portion of the map.

    I have no idea what that locale in Cyrodiil is connected to in terms of quests or storyline.

    yea the cyrodiil ghost is a well-known, unexplained phenomenon. I sometimes wonder if it has something to do with Oblivion. Maybe there's a really old ghost around Cropford in Oblivion.

    Speaking of Shadowfen, does anyone know the story behind the temple near Hei-Halai?
    It is considered a normal point of interest, except it's larger than most, and there are no related quests there.
    It looks like an Argonian temple complex, with a hidden cave entrance behind an altar, which leads to a cave full of what seems to be dead Shadowscales.

    It's been a while since I was in Shadowfen, so either I missed that or don't remember it.

    I just defeated Shugrub the Reformed (flesh atronauch) in the NW corner of Grahtwood, and was surprised to hear him speak as he died. Couldn't make it out, though.

    Edit: Nevermind, it was a quest item speaking.
