What Happened to These Maps?

What ever happened to these maps that were in the early versions of the game?
This style of map is much better than the barely readable ones in game currently. Is there any way we could get these maps put into a plugin or something? I would much rather have these while playing.

✭✭✭✭✭The problem is, even if you can load them with an AddOn, the actual world geometry, city layouts and large items like ships etc. have all changed since.
I have some older screenshots of areas where the coastline has drastically changed by now and whole islands are missing or new.
None of those old maps will be any longer accurate.

✭I like the style of the maps. They remind me of 90's rpg game maps like in Might & Magic. Maybe they weren't 'modern' enough.0 -

✭✭✭✭✭Oh my they certainly would @Kalifas! It's a shame to see such wonderful maps not be used in-game. Of course, what we have now is much better than just a birds eye view of the world like we had in Skyrim.
Looking at a side by side of the maps you presented and the maps we actually have I can see the functional reason behind the maps we have but man... more map looking maps would have been great. Just toss this into the pile of missed opportunities that Journal looking Journals and inventory categories are in.
