I was recently going through my screenshots and came across my beta Character in the screenshot i took in the final minutes of the last beta. I realized upon seeing him, that he looked far better than when i recreated him in early access.

    Something I really don't understand.
If I create a thread and post some cool features I like to see, that would be ok. But call it a petition, which is basically the same, since no one at ZOS needs to abide it, is suddenly a bad thing.

It is feedback from the players of the game, nothing more. But to be honest, I don't know ZOS reasons for this, so maybe it is fine the way it is.

Let's wait for the implementation of the thieves guild. If the ability to change appearance doesn't come with the thieves guild, then we can send a request to ZOS.

Until then, it's pointless to ask and I'm pretty sure it's already in the pipeline ;)

Petitions aren't allowed. From the rules (with a link).

    Good idea though.

Yes, my healer lady has way too much make up that looked alright in the dingy purple character creator but looks pretty bad in daylight. Like she got lost on the way to jersey shore or something. Also, I think I want to rethink my bosmer's black eyes because they clash with his face paint

It would be VERY nice to be able to re-enter the character creation screen and do some touch ups to characters we've already made, yes.
    Make it so, Number One.
I am not spending a single penny on the game until changes are made to the game that I want to see.
    1) Remove having to be in a guild to sell items to other players at a kiosk.
    2) Cosmetic modding for armor and clothing.
    3) Difficulty slider.
    4) Fully customizable player housing that isn't tied to anything in the game other than having the correct resources and enough gold to build. Don't tie it to PvP, guild membership, or anything at all. Oh, make it instanced so as not to take up world map space, too. Zeni screwed this one up already.
Any /one/ of these things implemented would get me spending again, maybe even subbing.

Just message a forum admin and ask them to change your title and text from Petition to Poll, because technically it is a poll. I think you can also make the request using the Flag button.

Well no one is responding to the poll with a /signed and there is discussion, so huzzah for keeping it on track!

Indeed yes we need a way to revisit the character creator. I had made a Breton Templar that looked great in the creator and in game he looked scowly and grumpy. What looks good in the initial screen doesn't translate well to in-game lighting and rendering. I would change my Khajiit NB so her face doesn't look all squashed, (while in the creation screen she looked cute and innocent.)

With such an emphasis on making characters personal and unique, as well as the facial animation changes coming up, I really hope they will offer an in-game charater revisit.

    Nah, I'm quite serious
I wanted to make her a sort of glum and matronly healer, fundamentally a kind soul saddened by war, but also to have a sort of posh elvish (altmer) glamour. The problem is I overdid the second part

make it expensive. being able to change willy nilly isn't fun but change is. so make it a "does your nose really bother you? 25000 gold please and i'll cut it o... i mean make it better then the divines intended!"

Hey all. We've gone ahead and removed the word "petition" from this thread's title. As explained in our Code of Conduct, threads labelled as petitions don't promote discussion but rather nonconstructive posts along the lines of "/signed." As this thread has developed into a more productive and meaningful discussion, we have decided to assist the OP and the thread will be allowed to continue on so long as discussion continues to be productive

You're talking plastic surgeon rates here.

NB: Yes, I know, I voted "unnecessary". But I've since come to think of it. It happens. ;)

I think an appearance editor for altering existing characters could be implemented twofold. In medieval times, barbers often doubled as surgeons (hence the name barber-surgeon), because they were used to having and handling sharp instruments on a daily basis anyway.

The cheaper, more affordable "barber" part would cover all "easily to accomplish" appearance changes, like:
    • Hair Style (going from short to long hair can be explained by Alchemy)
    • Hair Color (dito)
    • Head Adornment
    • perhaps even Skin Color, as it could be changed by makeup or potions as well
The costs for this could be in the range of tens or (low) hundreds of Gold Coins.

The more expensive "surgeon" part would cover all heavy alterations at a high price (tens of thousands of GC), maybe even on a longer cool down, like once per month. These would include all other sliders from the character creation menu.

There could even be some exceptions to the latter: Body Hight (locked down), Age (only older), and Mouth Curve (free, because smiles should always be free ^_^).

Hair color & style, Tattoos yes, even the facial expression might be plausible - everything else should stay the same in my opinion.

Players should not be able to perform surgery on their chars ;)

I want to change my character's voice.

Trust me, you'll want a singing coach; all that a barber-surgeon could give you is a swift cut to the windpipe, especially if his name is Sweeney Todd. But it would change your character's voice, nonetheless. :D

I'm all for adding in a barber/surgeon/face-sculptor. For immersion/role-play reasons (you don't keep your hair the same style or colour all your life) and because sometimes, glitches in character creation happen. We should be able to swap hairstyles and fix things that we didn't quite get right in character creation.

The Face-Sculptor in Skyrim worked great, something like that would be ideal for me. Race and gender is fixed, everything else can be changed. For a price, of course.

So if he titled it "Should there be an appearance editor" instead of using the word petition it would be okay? Seems like it's really just an issue of semantics. /eyeroll
