Pets - Annoy anyone else?

Am I the only person that find every other player having giant pets following them around to be annoying?

I mean look at this Rewards "Ice Wraith" It looks massive and is going to be floating around right in your player's face. We're not allowed to have persistent Horses that follow us around or stay where we Dismount them..... but giant Ice Wraiths and random Daedra are perfectly fine?

I'd LOVE an option to check a box and have them all made invisible.

I'm a paid subscriber. Reward me by letting me NOT see any pets.

Been asking for option to make them invisible for 2 years now, ever since devs noted the wretched feature might be in ESO

I'd rather have Horses be persistent than random Daedra and monsters that look like they're chasing players.

I agree. Should be able to make them invisible and make them non collision items. Sucks getting stuck on people's pet when they afk at a way shrine or in front of a shop door. And they are a bit annoying to see 5 floating around an npc :P
My horse can fall off a cliff and then race to the other side of Cyrodil with his mangled legs.....but he cannot defeat the face of a mudcrab, a small rock, and occasionally has problems with stairs. -_-

why not be happy for the people that gets them, instead of always seeing it from the bad side of it.

its not like we stay at the same spot for hours and they look at you.

Nope. Doesn't bother me one bit. I really, really try to comprehend what's so annoying about it to so many, what about someone else's pet could possibly be making anyone's experience worse, but I never come up with anything. Sorry, guess I'm just not capable of empathizing with being so aggravated by other people's stuff.

If I were looking for reasons to get pissed off I guess I could use this excuse. I rarely even notice pets because I don't pay attention to them.
"it's important to state that our decision to go with subscriptions is not a referendum on online game revenue models. F2P, B2P, etc. are valid, proven business models - but subscription is the one that fits ESO the best, given our commitment to freedom of gameplay, quality and long-term content delivery. Plus, players will appreciate not having to worry about being "monetized" in the middle of playing the game, which is definitely a problem that is cropping up more and more in online gaming these days." - Matt Firor

It's not the looking, it's the people who have malicious intent and stand at wayshrines to get people stuck. A simple relog fixes it, but it's annoying and I report anyone who does it.

The only places pets bother me is in confined or small spaces. Removing Collision would take care of most of that, forcing the Sorcerer Pets to dissolve on entering a bank would solve the rest.

Is there an actual screenshot of the pet? And not a general shot of the current Ice Wraiths in game? I'd just assumed they'd be miniature versions of the real thing. At least, that's how every other MMO does it.

    Pets - Annoy anyone else?

As far as I'm concerned, I do not feel annoyed by the presence of pets.

This is a suggestive question. How would anyone know? But I think it's very probable that there are more people like me, who don't feel annoyed by pets, as well as more who feel like you. Why don't you make a poll about it? We definitely need more of those.

As I am a paying subscriber, too, I'd like to be rewarded by seeing more pets. Pets are cute, and I like seeing cute things. The more, the merrier.

Wait! What about this? ZOS could add a "pet slider" to the in-game options, going from 0 to 9000%. This way, all would be happy. ^_^

(Note to self: ask about implementation of pet slider at next reddit AMA. Setting of 9000% is acceptable to be coming later, as 100% will suffice in the beginning.)

Well why do Horses get treated as Invisible "Magic Horses" but its okay for Giant Ice Wraiths and Daedra to follow people around and clog up Public locations.

    Its ABSOLUTELY inconsistent.

Vanity pets don't have collision (excepting one case where one was bugged). From the screen shot referenced, it is indeed larger than the other vanity pets, but not as large as the actual mobs you encounter in game. I don't think it's all that bad.

I've been stuck inside a monkey after porting to a wayshrine more times than I care to admit. Everytime it was by someone who had drug their monkey to the exact spot where you port in and went AFK.

If you don't experience this then you are lucky, but pets definitely have collision (or at least a frame that I constantly get stuck in).

Vanity pets aren't supposed to have collision. One of the recent patch notes addressed fixing one of them that wasn't supposed to have collision (the recent 1.4 notes maybe?).

This. Since launch the monkey has had collision. I quest with somebody who loves having the monkey follow her, and as recently as last night I was stuck until she moved because of the monkey after porting to a wayshrine.

I like pets in the game. After leveling up a Sorc I have a new appreciation for pets. It's one of those, must try for yourself kind of deals. As far as cosmetic pets (non-combat), they are fun too. Why not? This is a very common thing for MMOs!

The problem is, not being able to walk through them and people in local chats arguing over other's blocking doorways, etc... they should be set to phantom for other players. Also, an NPC walking by shouldn't be able to push my character playing the Lute unless I'm able to push them back! Oh yes I know soon, Justice System.... I can't wait. LOL :grinning:

I find it extremely fascinating that you guys like having your screens clogged up with pets.

Would Horses that stay where you dismount them bother you, or would you be okay with that too?

First , sorc pets wont be removed , when the justice system hits , people will be fighting , thus you cant remove their skills.

Second , im quite happy with my vanity pets.

One can say that is unlikely you will get a box to hide them if their purpose is to exactly show off to others.

If I could walk through them, I'd be happy. Why everyone wants to have their pet out in confined areas is beyond me. Annoying!

I have never been bothered by pets but I also have never encountered any problems being blocked or stuck in a monkey before. The monkey definitely needs to be fixed if that's the case- otherwise I'm ok with leaving pets visible to everyone.

I was stuck in the monkey trap just last night. Got out of it by toggling my inventory on and off.

And I ran into two or three more pet-walls in the Mages Guild and in a Bank building as well. I had to jump over them to get around them, right in a GD doorway.

When the justice system comes out I hope summoned pets are considered a sign of aggression in cities and bounty worthy. I like seeing vanity pets though. So long as there is no collision and they stay on the ground its all good.
