Alternate avenues of leveling

With the announcement of additional VR levels - and (not to burst anybody's bubble) more likely on the horizon before phase 3 of the champion system - I feel the need to make another request about alternate avenues of leveling. I, for one, immediately noticed the lack of fighters/mages guild interaction upon hitting VR. Their quests were a nice change of pace. So, I'd like to see:

- Solo, Duo, Group quests from the fighters guild that send the player(s) through a portal to a randomly chosen dungeon with a random theme (undead, daedra, beasts, etc) and 3 random bosses that provide level appropriate loot/crafting materials and nets worthwhile experience for the time spent. Also gives fighters guild experience.

- Solo, Duo, Group quests from the mages guild that send the player(s) through a portal to a randomly chosen dungeon with a random theme (necromancy, daedra, undead, etc) and requires the player solve puzzles to acquire lost lore for the guild and nets worthwhile experience for the time spent. Also gives mages guild experience.

- A crafting association the gives solo, Duo, Group quests to kill a boss monster in a random area for a specific drop, and then a allows the creation of an item to turn in to the npc. Value of the item is based on crafting level and experience gain for the player and said craft is based on the item created.

- Daily quests to close anchors in a level appropriate zone, holding the quest spawns a special boss mob at the end of the anchor and the quest yields decent experience.

These quests could be expanded when Thieves/brotherhood is added. Repeatable and randomly generated quests to steal an object or kill a mark.

I am still hoping for more from the FG and the MG. Both their quest lines seemed kind of thin, basically focused on one plot line. Fun, but thin, which is why I want more. Each Guild Hall should have a few or several quests of various types, much like your describing in a dynamic environment. Or, a fixed quest line that you have to progress through by completing various side jobs before you can advance the main quest line.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

I don't want pve crafting stuff. I was crafting to stay untouched in that regard. I shouldn't have to pve to craft.

Which it looks like I will have to with this new trait for 1.4. It's all exclusive and pve crap is mandatory.
    Ugh.
Dear Sister, I do not spread rumors, I create them.

When I first got to Mournhold, interacting with the Mages Guild NPCs gave me the impression that there was a quest line there, but that it wasn't active.

Once you have hit level 10 in the Fighters Guild, you can unlock Bounty Hunter and a guy in Cyrodiil will give you quests to kill 10 or some kind of NPC (goblins, specific group of bandits, etc).

I do like the idea of more guild quests, though.

How about opening up more of Tamriel, and creating alternative ways of leveling 1-50 through those zones? Say, make Whiterun Hold another 30-40 zone as an alternative to Eastmarch, and maybe Markart or the Pale as a 40-50 zone?

Why do you need "new ways to level"?

Leveling should be a result, not a goal. If leveling in and of itself is the goal, then the game sucks and the designers have failed, May as well play statbuilder.

I think you're focused on semantics. ' Leveling' in this context simply refers to ' things we can do '. I would like variety - a variety more in line to 1-50 since after VR there is 0 interaction with the fighters and mages guilds even though they have branches in most medium and larger sized cities.

Yep, I was specifically calling out the terminology, but terminology does tend to indicate a frame of mind.

Agreed, I absolutely should have been more specific to my meaning.
