Can you please change it so that 1 lockpick is used up on a successful attempt aswell as those that break whilst trying to open the chest?
I think I've used the same lockpick now on over 100 chests....i'm starting to feel like I own 'The Skeleton Key" from the Twilight Sepulcher.

I hate leaving things in containers I loot but lockpicks are just worthless...I own 100 and use zero, probably left 1000's in containers since they have no monetary value either so they are not even worth selling to NPC's. Also NOBODY after level 5 will buy them in trades since they have an endless stock of them aswell....

They're going to add a gold value to everything you can loot from chests once the Justice System is implemented.

Yes, they will be worth 1g from a special vendor you probably have to do a quest line to get access to.

    Yawn.

Anyway, I would also like to see lockpicks disappear. We need a Lockpick Sink.

The way it works right now is that most of the stuff you can loot from chests is worth 0 gold. Lockpicks, equipment, a lot of provisioning items, that sort of thing.

They said that once they will be giving value to those things once they introduce the justice system because taking them from most places will be stealing. You will need to go to fences to sell stolen items, but it makes it worthwhile.

Can't say what value they'll put on lockpicks. We'll see.

I do have a theory that there will be a sink coming in. Notice how every bank has vault doors? I'm guessing that the Thieves Guild will have bank heists at some point.

I think you are confusing stuff that is looted from cabinets, trunks, wardrobes, etc., with the chests in the wild and in dungeons that you need to pick the locks on to get the stuff inside.

Everything you loot from a lockpick chest has gold value. From the gold itself, to the gems, armor, weapons, etc. The only things I have ever looted that didn't have a gold value are the Maps.

No, I get that. But lockpicks, which show up a lot in cabinets, trunks, wardrobes and the like, currently have no value because they are so easy to get. Just like the equipment that you can currently loot from cabinets, trunks and wardrobes. They have said they will give gold value to those items, and the items you can now take off of weapon racks and armor stands, once they add in the justice system.

I don't like this idea, if success destroys them too, then it will chew through them faster. I get why you want them used up faster, I just think it will destroy them much faster than you think.

Aalso at the minute I'm saving them for an alt who's supply I accidently destroyed (oops). And I need the rate at which I build up a supply.

    Three things:

    - Make picking chests HARDER!!!
    - Then, make loot scale depending on the chest difficulty. Master chests should always give you some really, really, really good loot.
    - Make everything worth at least 1g. There shouldn't be any 0g items. None.

    :)

As far as I remember, they said the stuff you steal will have value. They didn't say you'd still be stealing the same stuff. So it's unclear they will be adding value to lockpicks/provisioning items/etc.

That said, I *would* expect they'll be adding value to the random white gear you find. Though I hope/suspect you'll be stealing better stuff than that.

There should be a way to 'tap' chests so they're yours also for a few seconds. A good handful of times I will kill the stuff around a chest and someone will just walk in and take it. Opening the chest was my only reason to kill the mobs in the first place.

Sure, some of you may think I'm complaining but it really is [snip]. Be pretty simple also to have a chest tapping system. Whenever you get near a chest you get a *one time, non-repeatable, short duration* ownership of the chest for X amount of seconds.

A purposed formula: 10 seconds + (3 seconds for every ten character levels).

Anyways, I'm sure no one else here has every had this happen to them [many times]. ~laughs~

    Please...

Lockpick used when lockpicking is succesful? This is wrong.

Lockpicking itself needs to be much harder. The hard difficulty could easily be the easy level.

Then again i see people fail easy lockpicks all the time.. Maybe they should not do lockpickint?

I once had someone pull a couple of mobs onto me while I was in the middle of picking a chest. By the time I finished killing the mobs (which had kicked me out of the lockpicking as soon as I took damage), the other guy had picked the chest and run away.

I think they should just remove the timer, scale the chest difficulty based on reaction time rather than a time limit, and break the pick the first time you push too hard so it kicks you out and gives someone else a chance to steal.

And no "tapping" a chest so others are magically locked out. Just because you saw it first doesn't mean you have the right of ownership.

Funny, I think they should remove the stupid minigame and add an actual lockpicking skill like TES 1-3. This is supposed to be a roleplaying game, not Mario Party. (Hopefully that'll be part of the thieves guild functionality... and not require flagging for PvP by stealing in towns.)

Then probably just get rid of the lockpicks entirely. They aren't a money sink, they're an inventory slot sink. I've probably thrown away thousands of 'em. Unless they want to add ones that give give you a skill boost or somesuch, they serve no purpose.

You shouldn't have engaged the mobs. You were only incidentally hit by an AoE. Until/unless you fight back they're only aggressive towards the other guy.

(With some minor exceptions, as far as I can tell: You have pets out or the other guy was under the effects of one of your healing/buff spells)

Personally, I'm really not a fan of how healing works "in public". You can't control whom your healing spells hit, and the random uncontrolled heals seem to create agro from mobs. Really sort of needs to be some option healers can select such that they only heal people in their group, themselves, or their target.

As my healer, I have to be *very* careful in areas crowded with other players. Pretty easy to pull some of the mobs other people are fighting onto me by healing them without even meaning to.

Also opens up a griefing opportunity.

I didn't even see the other guy at first, otherwise I wouldn't have.
