I've got you figured out. You are trying to turn this into a single player game aren't you

Maybe instead of two level increments, they could do just one and then - and here's the kicker - twice as often! Now THAT's something!

I dont mind the level raising once and a while but i dont want it to be the way new content gets added. I would like to see more horizontal progression, raids (actually raids- 10person), housing, guilds (thieves, DB, and more), rare mobs with epic loot, world bosses, ect, ect..

I came to this game thinking I finally found a wonderful MMO that didn't follow the constant leveling model. Add more traits/armor sets/and content, just stop with the upwards spiral...

No, please. For the love of god stop the leveling.

How about this Novel Idea: we actually have some horizontal progression instead of the game of nothing but vertical progression that we have?

There`s nothing I hate more in games, then forced level grind after reaching the cap. After reaching first introduced cap game should focus on other forms of progression (crafting, traits, appearance, story, pvp, and so on). That is possible without artificial level raise.

    Hitting a 100hp mob with 10 dmg = meh
Hitting a 10000hp mob with 1000 dmg = IM POWERFUL!!!!!

See why raising levels is stupid.
Its the same, only thing that changes are the numbers on the screen.

There are a lot of games out there where you can do 5x9999 dmg crit combos, go play one of them.

What is wrong with the devs? They keep adding stuff like more hollow leveling and craglorn filler but what about actually giving us more options in terms if character development!!!! Maybe then the leveling wouldn't feel so forced and pointless. If this is honestly part of your 5 year plan, you guys didn't think this through very well.

    So true.

OP, I'm genuinely not sure if you're serious or not. But if you are, please consider the above point.

In addition, bear in mind that, not only are you actually not becoming more powerful, but also the constant addition of incremental levels makes previous content obsolete, preventing the broadening of end game pve content that might keep people interested slightly longer than what is, at the end of the day, just a change in numbers.

Why make two trials that many people have quite likely not yet even experienced outdated within three months of their introduction?

Raising the lvl cap from time to time is a good idea. Not sure how many MMOs people played that dislike char progression but there are basically two ways how this works in MMOs.

    1. Gear tiers

The problem with gear tiers is that your char and everything you did before the update becomes worthless. You start from scratch again. A good example for this is WOW. If you reach level 90 then you are as good or bad as a player who was level 90 for one year. The only thing that divides you is the gear and this is always useless once a new raid tier is out. Besides that old content and what you did in the past becomes worthless, it simply put doesn't matter at all if you sat in town for one year or raided hardcore for the same time.

    2. Unlocking of skills, traits ...

This is what ZO does and its a very good solution to the problem mentioned above. No matter how many new levels are added, your char will never be stuck or useless just because of an update. A player who was VR 14 for a few months will always be stronger and more advanced than a player who just got to VR 14. You will have access to new skill lines, traits, crafting recipes, titles, dyes and a lot more.

Another aspect is that the content will never get old or dead. At WOW whenever a new Raid is released the old becomes a ghost town and nobody will do that old raid. If you now didn't play 24/7 so you could clear the old one, then you will miss out.

At ESO however content wont get old as there will always be people going through the older VR areas. ZO is doing good, its just that many don't realize this yet.

Your ability to produce an analysis of the same basic mechanics in two totally contradictory ways in order to push your agenda is awesome.

On the one hand you claim WOW's raids become "ghost towns" when higher tiers get released while in ESO the VR content remains active .

The situations are of course the same, you just ignore that, you also ignore the fact that your WOW statement is bollocks because the ILevel gating of tiers means people have to gear up in lower tiers in order to run the new content: JUST LIKE ESO.

Fact is those two statements can apply to both games, you just don't want to see it.

    Absolutely right.

In addition, the idea that everything will all be alright because 'At ESO however content wont get old as there will always be people going through the older VR areas. ZO is doing good, its just that many don't realize this yet' is, frankly, laughable.

There is absolutely no reason to suspect that, unlike almost every other game, people will always be coming through in large numbers in ESO. We may love the game, but it isn't squaring the circle.

Numbers in all games tend to tail off in time, and they especially tail off for group questing content. As for group dungeon / raid / trial content, the tendency is for them to become entirely deserted once they are obsolete.

    OP: Please explain WHY?

i simply love having high level and being high level from work i performed to reach that level. im just being honest, i love the rewards and power you get with high level and it took me alot of work to get to that level.
the rewards in armor and weapons and spells we have access to and also the places we can go and things we earned make it worth while and i enjoy it.
this is nothing new to see or experiance. every mmo i have ever played in the past 12 years has allways had high levels and i wish, hope, and admire it to continue.
