So, I've been playing in Cyrodiil for a while now. I started with my 4th legitimate unsuccessful attempt at getting the emperor title. I sat at 1 in my campaign for 3 days before getting too frustrated with the lack of faction support to continue my drive.
The buffs, specifically the crit and defensive/offensive buffs afforded by simply homing a campaign make it very attractive for a faction to completely dominate a campaign. This has caused a black hole in the progress of many campaigns. If you were to look at the leaderboards for Bow of Shadows and Haderus, you would notice the same emperor has reigned for multiple campaign cycles and isn't even present on the leaderboards.
Since keeps don't ever flip, they never get dethroned. It is my understanding dev's wanted to discourage emperor flipping, but did they want to create a wall so that no new emps are ever created or earned?
Also, due to the "fix" on DK chains helping people flip keeps in Cyrodiil, chains break ALL THE TIME now. I can't pull people at different elevations, and sometimes it even bugs out on people on flat ground with me. This issue also carries over to PVE areas as well. I understand there are many bugs in game that need addressing, but I would like the DK chain mechanics added to the list of things fixed in the near future. Considering you broke emp flipping by breaking all campaign mechanics, you could probably undo the damage you did to the DK chains and let us start pulling people on and off walls again, like it was originally intended to do.
TL:DR
Solution to un-earned emp-flipping: all keeps go neutral at the time of campaign reset. All factions have an equal chance at earning emperor and cyrodiil buffs. Players that don't pvp DONT GET THE BUFFS. You must be rank 1 or 2 in your alliance war campaign in order to receive the buffs outside of cyrodiil. FIX DK CHAINS. thanks.
