So, I've been playing in Cyrodiil for a while now. I started with my 4th legitimate unsuccessful attempt at getting the emperor title. I sat at 1 in my campaign for 3 days before getting too frustrated with the lack of faction support to continue my drive.

The buffs, specifically the crit and defensive/offensive buffs afforded by simply homing a campaign make it very attractive for a faction to completely dominate a campaign. This has caused a black hole in the progress of many campaigns. If you were to look at the leaderboards for Bow of Shadows and Haderus, you would notice the same emperor has reigned for multiple campaign cycles and isn't even present on the leaderboards.

Since keeps don't ever flip, they never get dethroned. It is my understanding dev's wanted to discourage emperor flipping, but did they want to create a wall so that no new emps are ever created or earned?

Also, due to the "fix" on DK chains helping people flip keeps in Cyrodiil, chains break ALL THE TIME now. I can't pull people at different elevations, and sometimes it even bugs out on people on flat ground with me. This issue also carries over to PVE areas as well. I understand there are many bugs in game that need addressing, but I would like the DK chain mechanics added to the list of things fixed in the near future. Considering you broke emp flipping by breaking all campaign mechanics, you could probably undo the damage you did to the DK chains and let us start pulling people on and off walls again, like it was originally intended to do.

TL:DR
Solution to un-earned emp-flipping: all keeps go neutral at the time of campaign reset. All factions have an equal chance at earning emperor and cyrodiil buffs. Players that don't pvp DONT GET THE BUFFS. You must be rank 1 or 2 in your alliance war campaign in order to receive the buffs outside of cyrodiil. FIX DK CHAINS. thanks.

    Make 2 campaigns at 30 days and 2 campaigns at 2 weeks and make them reset every cycle (i.e. all keeps go to neutral) and make it so there is no campaign swapping. This prevents "emp flipping" and provides all factions the same advantages on the day the server resets. People that don't contribute in cyrodiil should not receive cyrodiil buffs, end of story.

    I like you ideas. Here's a few more.

    The Cyrodiilic buffs should last until the campaign ends. You have to be part of taking or defending a resource, outpost, or keep before the buffs apply again.

    I'd also like to see Imperial uprisings. Every few days (real time), a resource is taken by the Imperials. If it is not re-taken within a few hours (real time), another nearby resource goes to the Imperials. This continues until Keeps start falling to the Imperials, or players take back all the resources and keeps that were lost to the Imperials.

    Why don't you just go to an active campaign and earn emperor properly? Doing it on a dead campaign isn't really a show of skill or anything.

    @OP I tend to agree with Smeep here. You appear to be a bit QQ about not getting EMP though a lack of coordination or motivation from your alliance on the server your playing on...shrug. If you can't get it done you can't get it done. And if someone is still EMP for a time, even after taking a break or guesting on another campaign I don't see what the concern is. Do better and organize an offensive. Hate to be callous but at the end of the day it's a competition within the game mechanics.

    I too would like to see less Emp farming / flipping. I think it's seriously cheesy usage of game mechanics but am I going to have sympathy for someone that doesn't get to be EMP because they or their alliance isn't competitive? ...umm No.

    I have no emp buff and outright refuse to use emp swapping. I will never get the title or the buffs. Why? I have a job. This is people do emp flipping, not because they are lazy but because there simply is no other way for them to achieve it.

    I doesn't bother me. It's only 5% stats difference, but there are people who it bothers: a lot of people.

    Players have ruined the concept of emperorship (what did you expect?) and being a former emperor is nothing special and has no denotation of skill or dedication. If you remove the buffs you remove the flipping.

    Active emperors should get their buffs, no matter where they are (another campaign, PvE, AA, you name it).

    Do you know how people built the AP quickly? Not by participating in battle, not by helping their campaign, but by leaving the battle and repairing walls on keeps that have just been upgraded.
