A cure to the anonimity of online games!

When you register to a game and forum (such as this). You have to also give over the e-mail address of your Mum, Dad, or employer.

When you get 5 complaints against you the offending articles are mailed to those people detailing why.

Short of posting your picture & address or linking to your facebook/linkin/Twitter account what possible other way would there be for people to be called to account without being able to hide behind an avatar and be as obnoxious as they are?

    Beyond laughable.

I couldn't care a damn what anyone here would tell my employer, I no longer have a father and my mother isn't capable of understanding much these days since she suffers with dementia.

Please send an e-mail to my employer, make my day.

    Nope.

Why? Well, ignoring the privacy implications, it's trivial for someone to toss up another email address. Heck, I have as many as I want on my own domain name.

This would accomplish approximately nothing whilst annoying most.

Welcome to the internet. Get used to anonymity.

PS. Since you don't even know how to spell anonymity right, still refer to your "mum" in that sense, and say employer instead of just job; I think you are youth living in England. People's writing gives them away more often than you think.

A much more practical solution would be to use GPS and microwave radiation to *** the brains of defenseless gamers until you have their physiological signatures in your database. Then you can harass them and steal from them and violate their privacy and human rights at will.

Since we were on the topic of REALLY bad ideas.

Sorry @ers101284b14_ESO just not drunk enough to understand you should have used "you're". But I do understand typo's happen.
    Yup @armigedon typo's happen.

I still said Discuss not abuse or backhand. Yet to see a reasonable argument for or against.

Current comments are either plain derogatory without giving a reasonable why or just plain rude / trying to be funny.

If you care this much.... about what other people think or what other people do... I highly recommend seeing a psychiatrist. Narcissistic behavior is potentially dangerous to your health and those around you.

Nobody asked for my work or parents' email.

    Am I doing something wrong?

Nevertheless, if I was asked to give one I would give mums just to confuse her.

There is a tide in the affairs of men, which taken at the flood, leads on to fortune. Omitted, all the voyage of their life is bound in shallows and in miseries. On such a full sea are we now afloat. And we must take the current when it serves, or lose our ventures.

should we be sending a link to this thread to your "mum"? She might want to see how defensive and hostile you are being.

So took a short glance as some of your discussions and comments and wouldn't you (OP) be a candidate for your own system you're presenting? They all seem to exude some form of vitriol or aggressiveness.

I think the fact that you neglected to include the e-mail addresses of your Mum, Dad, and employer in your post reveals just how serious you are about your own topic.

You want a valid argument against? Fine, here are a few:
    1. Unverifiability: There's no reasonable way games publishers could verify all of those extra e-mail addresses. People could simply register dead addresses or aliases.
    2. Irresponsibility: Others' e-mail addresses are not ours to give away. It would be a serious violation of their privacy to ask for or give them out.
    3. Ineffectuality: Even if you got your parents' consent, there's a good chance these e-mails would end up in their spam folder, never to be read.
    4. Inconsistency: Yes, there was the joke about the unemployed orphan, but that's one of many cases where one might have no parents or employer to register. A more common one would be the retired gamer whose parents have passed away.
    5. Immaturity: Parents are responsible for the behavior of their children because in general children haven't matured enough, physically, mentally, or socially, to be responsible for their actions. Once people reach adulthood, however, they are responsible for their own actions. Employers are not parents. While a communication with a misbehaving child's parents might make sense, e-mailing an adult's employer indicates a lack of understanding of the relationship. And since this game is rated Mature, we're all adults here, right? ;)

Short of posting your picture & address or linking to your facebook/linkin/Twitter account what possible other way would there be for people to be called to account without being able to hide behind an avatar and be as obnoxious as they are?

Surely if the offenses are serious enough to require a note home to the parents of a misbehaving child, they're serious enough to merit a suspension or ban for a malicious adult?
