2 days ago in cryodiil and on ts:
me: "***this rain.. costs me at least 7-10 fps!"
teammate1: "what rain?! its super sunny here! what u talking about!"
teammate2: "uhm u guys on drugs? there is no rain and no sun. its foggy like crazy. i cant even see my hand in front of me!"
    me: "oh it stopped raining"
teammate2: "lol it just started to rain for me!"

soo stupid to make weather client and not serverbased.
i wish there was a "disable weather" function cause rain and fog always goes crazy on my fps.

The rain in this game is GREAT! It doesn't rain too often but just about the right amount I'd say. I like having a change in weather within the game.

Primarily Glenumbra and Grahtwood, but it feels like they should be rainy so I don't mind. The only place I've never had rain are the starter islands. It doesn't rain nearly as often in Stonefalls, but I don't play my EP toon very often.

I'd assume it's based on which zone you are in, so a global poll seems... silly.
You assume wrong. Once it starts raining for you somewhere in Tamriel it will rain for you no matter where you go in Tamriel.
It'll never rain in Alik'r, even if it was raining when you left Stormhaven.

It will be a sand/dust storm in Alik'r if you go there when it rains. If you leave Alik'r you will find that it didn't stop raining anywhere else.

    That is not my experience.

Pay more attention. Changing zones will not change the weather.

It depends on the region. Some regions get more rain than others, which is quite realistic. I don't mind the rainy areas, they have a special atmosphere.

Couldn't agree more and not only can it be the right amount of weather effects for certain regions but it does add atmosphere and depth to immersion. It just becomes dreary if it's max'ing out at almost 100% of my 5-8 hour sessions I play.

I think I figured out why I have so much rain and it's because how I play; the short-of-it (and to make it a bit of a riddle ~laughs~), without too much detail, is some quests take me a few hours longer than other players on the same quest.

I live in Seattle. It rains pretty much all year long, except for a month or three in the summer.

    Oh, you meant ingame.........
I am not spending a single penny on the game until changes are made to the game that I want to see.
    1) Remove having to be in a guild to sell items to other players at a kiosk.
    2) Cosmetic modding for armor and clothing.
    3) Difficulty slider.
    4) Fully customizable player housing that isn't tied to anything in the game other than having the correct resources and enough gold to build. Don't tie it to PvP, guild membership, or anything at all. Oh, make it instanced so as not to take up world map space, too. Zeni screwed this one up already.
Any /one/ of these things implemented would get me spending again, maybe even subbing.

I'm inclined to agree with that. Every (sub)zone seems to have two weather alternatives. In temperate zones it seems to be clear/rain, in highlands it seems to be overcast/rain, deserts have clear/sandstorm, wastelands have overcast/duststorm, mountain areas seem to have clear/snow, and so on.

Another thing for people interested in the weather. The weather does not evolve in time like in Skyrim. If you look at the sky the clouds do not move they just change at a given time interval from one static configuration to another. I kind of understand the technical difficulties of doing realistic detailed weather in an MMO but I do miss the slow moving clouds and evolving weather from Skyrim.

Well I returned to the game three weeks ago (+) and thought they finally fixed the amount of rain we encountered while playing because for the first couple weeks it was pretty normal. 20-30% of the time it rained. That's cool, perfect!

Now the last week my client is obviously bugged because it has never stopped raining. 100% of the time, once again, it always rains so what better thread to revive then my old post from the previous time I was subscribed.

Started raining in [at the start] Greenshade and now Malabal Tor (almost complete) and not *one time* has it stopped over the last 40+ hours of game time /played. (Yes I play slow purposely)

I really hope this bug is fixed soon.

And, yes, I know it's not raining for most people. I ask and most say it almost never rains for them. So some flag got hard toggled on for my client. I need it to stop raining immediately.

It rains too much. However, I wouldn't mind seeing a nice colorful sunset or bleak, hazy sunrise. So far it's day-poof-night-poof-day mode.

It sure rains a bit too often. The rain effect seems to be rather heavy too, been seeing 10-12% increases in GPU load when it rains, compared to standing still in the same spot, with facing same direction without raining.
