HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO KILL HEALERS?

SpazzKidd3
Every time i get into a fight with a healer whether its a regular mob or boss i can never kill them alone. I stun them or knock them down then go to attack them, about to kill them then they heal go back to full health. By then i have enough resources to stun again. So stun, almost dead then they heal again! How am i supposed to kill them!? Maybe the Devs should re-balance their Healing so people can actually solo public dungeon bosses and mobs!

Anyone else have this issue? I have enough skill to kill any other mob and sustain my life while fighting the healers but i can't actually kill them!

Keep stunning and interrupting. When you see them about to cast a spell or channeling a spell, whack 'em! Poison arrow, stun, knock-down or, if you're in melee range, block and attack (hold right-mouse button to block and click the left /attack button while blocking. It will stun them ).The Harvester daedra, you need to AoE or kill off the watery orbs they summon which slowly close in on them and heal them for stupid-crazy amounts.

Basically, just kill them faster than they heal.
Brunhilda Icehammer - Nord Dragonknight, 'Smith & Enchantress 'What is 'ranged? I need to hit something!!'
Laehl Direthorn - Bosmer Nightblade, Purveyor of fine Clothes, Bows and Staves
Reeza gra-Zuni - Orc Templar 'War Shaman' and Apothecary
Noemi Snowpaw - Kajiit Dragon Knight - I laugh... or I'd have to kill you.
Kitera Dreamon - Breton of The Dominion: Because those Daggers don't appreciate a great Mage.
Lysara Shadowcroft - Dunmer Bloodmage: This will only hurt a lot.

I have never had this problem unless it is 3 healers, though 2 can be a pita.

You can interrupt their heal (right mouse button + left mouse button) while they're in the process of healing or starting the heal animation. They may still heal themselves a bit, but not to full health. You need to be in melee range and have enough stamina to interrupt like this.

Some abilities also are good for specifically interrupting casts; this should be mentioned somewhere in the tooltip for the ability. Otherwise you can also use CCs like knockback/knockdown or stun, but at least some mobs can break CC and many bosses can't be CCed. You're better off just burning the healers down as quickly as possible, interrupting, then back to burning down. Stacking different DoTs can help.

Thank you! I never knew you could interrupt like that.

They are not bad in normal zones, they become extremely annoying in vet zones, and a nightmare in vet group dungeons.

They should not heal better than a dedicated temp healer.

I don't understand why every mob is more powerful than player in this game, stat-wise.
  • SpazzKidd3
That's the thing, I'm vet 4 and it's hard to solo stuff but i can still do it.

I have meet V12 players doing vet dugn who don't know how to interrupt :) so your not the only one

They should have some quest early on that teaches dodge, block and interrupt.

There was a boss in reaper's march (solo) - vr10 for me - which featured a high health healer (11k) and a second high dmg boss (bear in mind I was using leveling gear so couldn't outmatch the heal)

It took me so long to kill them both because the healer would just keep healing, and I didn't regen stamina fast enough to interrupt
    was really annoying

I think many people have this problem. I was lucky as the first thing I did was re-map all by buttons so I noticed it straight away.

I think it is taught in the tutorial and mentioned again in the death recap sometimes. Possibly even a mention in the hints on loading screens. I don't know what else can be added.

I think the mistake people make is to assume that the combat in ESO is just like every other MMO, which it is not.

Everybody goes desto staff to spam Impulse, but the skill Force Shock has a morph that interrupts casters/healers. So you can stop their healing from the other side of the room. It is fairly cheap, too, magicka-wise. One Hand + Shield also has a skill that "disorients" enemies for like 15 seconds. Disorient means the enemy will stand there all dazed and stupid and not heal for 15 seconds. They will snap out of it if damaged, but if you are careful about it, you can disorient the healer and take out the other mobs before the healer reorients.

You mean, like the very first enemies you face in the game during the tutorial quest, for instance? ;)

Ok, I don't remember roll dodging being anywhere in the tutorial, but block and interrupt definitely are.

I was starting to grind on my currently lvl8 crafting alt - I got rooted by an ice mage and a hint appeared saying something like "double tap w a s or d in order to roll dodge out of the root"

It's a pretty good DPS test really. A variety of attacks seems to be more successful than just spamming a particular one. Flatteners and stuns are good too.

    Of course, healers first!

Force Shock is actually better than impulse for this reason. Cheap damage, cheap RANGED interrupt.

usually in a mob the healer is the first one i take out cause other wise makes it harder to kill the rest due to the healing lol..but like everyone already stated just keep stunning and swinging

Volcanic Rune, because it looks cool and it is fun. And once you get the timing down, any mob that can be knocked down, becomes a joke, healers most of all.
