Memory Leak???

I could be wrong but i think theres a small memory leak thats causing crashing in Cyrodill after some really lengthy in game time.

Got dual monitor set up got my music window and task manager on the other monitor so i can monitor my computers performance.

Normally ESO sits at 1-1.1Mb Ram Usage (which is nothing i got 14 Gb total) and ESO crashes at 2.8 or higher. Past few days i have noticed a steady increase in memory usage leading up to some crashes.

The issue seems Isolated to Cyrodiil usually in the graphic intensive moments is when the crash occurs.

Im not really worried about it cause it crashes like once every 2 hours or so and i go take a bio break while the game reloads and nothing of it.

Just wondering if anyone else has noticed anything at all.

    I don't think it's just in Cyrodiil.

There's been a memory leak since beta where performance and FPS will drop after a certain amount of time, like two hours or so, and restarting the client completely clears it.

Cyrodiil may have a leak on top of that. I know there's also an issue where damage increases as time goes on, before the client crashes. The two issues are related but might be separate from the other long-standing issue.

It's only in Cyrodiil as I can play PVE area for hours on end, like 10 hours without a single crash.

It's not only in Cryodiil. I can crash simply by using the bank in Shorhelm.

It's crashing on me every 10 minutes in Cryodiil.

Outside of Cyrodiil is not a memory leak cause you would have way more people complaining. Right now it is only those in Cyrodiil

It is not just in Cyrodiil.

Ourside of Cyrodiil it is necessary to accumulate hours of continuous play before the effects start to appear. What people report is an increase in client-side lag prior to running out of memory and crashing. This lag could persist for a whle, getting worse as time progresses.

Whatever it is, Cyrodiil merely makes it work faster.

Then how can I play 10 hours in PvE with only 4 gigs of Ram and not have a single crash, no lag, nothing.

It just hasn't happened to you yet.

I crash every 10 minutes in Cyrodiil.

If I leave Cyrodiil and go to a different zone, a few minutes later, it crashes.

It will also crash after an hour or two in regular zones while doing random things. I'll just be riding a horse, using a bank, etc......then crash.

Long story short, this is a huge problem and they need to fix it.

It took me 2 days before I noticed it, and I have not had a crash. I have had a client side lag that presents as a stutter after running the client for an extended period of time. I can run for hours before I start to see the effects. Many people will not notice it unless they are actually looking for it. This whole thing is tied to something that is happening in the game, or a particular way of playing, and not everyone is doing this all the time, so the effects are slower.

I do not spend much time in Cyrodiil, or in places where there are a lot of people. I have music turned off. I am using full screen windowed mode. Etc Etc Etc.

Something I am doing holds off this problem for HOURS, but it is still happening in the background. Silently. Waiting. Watching me.

As of 1.3.3, I now reliably crash after around 3-4 hours of play, without ever touching PvP. (Prior to 1.3.3, I don't believe I ever crashed at all) Now, I haven't bothered trying to check memory usage, but it seems pretty likely that's the culprit. (of Note, so far 100% of the time has been in towns.)

Considering the only really massive change (that we're aware of) in 1.3.3 was the dye system, which is on individual players, I wouldn't be at all surprised if something to do with the dye on peoples armor was leaking. Whether it's information about the dying, or maybe actual dyed textures themselves. Would explain why it crashes rather rapidly in PvP, and slowly elsewhere. It's only in PvP where you have a large concentration of players. Also would explain why it seems more likely to happen in towns. Higher player concentration.

And, considering it DOES take quite some time (and if the theory about it being caused by peoples dye is correct) then people that aren't spending much time in town/aren't playing for long sessions may easily be not seeing it.

Since the last patch something was over working my gpu and caused it to over heat (got to 100 degrees celsius before it gave up) and crash after 30min of playing ESO. It just so happens that I had another 660 ti so I grabbed that and swapped them out and it's getting over worked still (high voltage spikes) but it's not getting over 65 degrees celsius (My other one never went over 50 before the last patch).

Resource monitor showed ESO slowly climbing in memory usage before it crashed as well. Oddly enough, it's possible that the over heating and the memory usage are un-related.

It didn't matter where I was btw. Cyrodil or PVE and the data showed the exact same thing happening after about 30 min for 3 days after patch until I changed out the cards.

It's definitely not just in Cyrodiil. My game will reliably reach around 3.6gb of RAM usage after anywhere from 1-4 hours of play, then CTD. I don't pvp as of yet and it happens in any zone, not just one particular area. If I spend most of my time outside of town I can play for a lot longer, but hanging out in towns means I generally have around an hour before the crash.

Never happened to me before the 1.3 patch. Before that, I was crash-free. The lag and stuttering has gotten worse, too. Also does not seem to be isolated to one particular GPU brand either since people with Nvidia cards and AMD cards alike have been reporting the same problem, so I doubt it is driver-related.

    I don't think it's just in Cyrodiil.

    (...)

    This.

I've been playing ESO for just under month now, and I haven't taken any of my characters to Cyrodiil yet, but since update 1.3.3, I've been experiencing these 'memory leak' crashes regularly.

After several hours of game play, as my ESO client's memory usage approaches 3.5 GB (I periodically check it via windows task manager), my computer's hard drive activity increases noticeably and the game starts to run rougher ('herky-jerky' I call it - the screen begins to freeze for microseconds at a time, to the point where just moving around becomes difficult). Eventually, the crash report window appears, and the game crashes.

Outside of this, ESO runs flawlessly on my computer (via Steam, btw - with all video settings on high, by default) - and I want to reiterate that I did not experience these memory leak crashes prior to the arrival of update 1.3.3.

I understand that there's a fix being tested, but I wanted to verify that this isn't happening only to those playing in Cyrodiil.

    Thank you.

My ESO client has been crashing in Cyrodiil about every 1-2 hours since the launch of Patch 1.3. I've even tried disabling all addon's and the game still crashes. All the live streamers I watch also crash. So the game seems to be very unstable atm. I hope they fix this soon its really getting to be annoying.
