High quality armor/weapon textures won't show on other players (and NPCs).

I have always had texture quality set to high, because I simply love the way they look. Now, since 1.3.x, the high quality armor and weapon textures will only show on myself, and not other players and NPCs. It's as if it's stuck on medium, even though things like environment and my own character are showing up as normal. Anyone else having this issue?

Now that you mention it I have my textures on high but sometimes they take a minute to switch from low to medium then high. It seems like its happening more and taking longer recently.

For me, it's like they go from
medium to high, and then immediately back to medium. it's quite frustrating.

I submitted a bug report in-game, so hopefully this'll get fixed soonish. I recommend everyone else with the issue do the same - with screenshots of course.

Tried changing texture quality to "-3" in the usersettings.txt? If we all are talking about the same thing, it's not a bug. Change texture quality to "-3" as I said and whole character-based textures will be rendered to the highest quality when these characters in your vicinity.

After changing it, you will see texture quality option in the video settings as blank. Don't change that, it would override your edit and revert back it to "0" if you select "High".

I tried finding it, but I couldn't find the line you were talking about. I added two lines to the UserSettings.txt:

SET TEXTUREQUALITY "-3"
and
SET TEXTURE_QUALITY "-3"
because I wasn't sure which one would be correct. If you would be so kind, could you copy that line for me to make sure I have it right?

Sorry, I should have write it's full name. The line that you have to change is;

SET MIP_LOAD_SKIP_LEVELS "-3"

If -3 affect your FPS too much, you may try -2 too.

Thank you so much! You've solved this issue for me. I've been in contact with support two times regarding this and they will try to fix it in Update 4. So, I'll go back to "0" once U4 has been released. Otherwise - "-3".
