Memory Leak with 1.3.3

Well it can only max at 3.5gigs. I've seen it hit 3.4 constantly since the update this month. I can turn off color correction and I can play for a few hours before the memory leaks start. With color correction on I have to log out every 20 minutes. Not sure what the connection is but there is obviously one. I play PVE and have never been in the PVP zone and from what I have read the memory leaks are hitting harder there than PVE. Regardless there are memory leaks that showed up in July which I reported that they never addressed. I could always recreate them without fail. Now we have the new memory issues on top of that and it needs to be addressed ASAP. Logging out every few minutes in this type of game is not an option nor should you have to.

Guys I think I might have an idea what is going on.
    But it relies on...
    1. texture caches have been added.
    2. the new lighting effects have been added.

I remember a while ago many graphics cards and drivers were broken and do not fully support DX10 DX11 and similar lighting effects. I assume if the card cant run these effects they are offloaded to cpu for software rendering instead of hardware rendering. So perhaps video effects are being called that are not supported leading to a large increase in bus traffic and memory use.

I also know nvidia geforce experience is buggy (game video capture) and had to be removed from my system to help with crashes on a 770. Even then the system was still unstable with the invidia reference drivers. I had to surgically remove all traces of nvidia drivers and software and download the driver from the hardware manufacturer site. I had many red box issues in beta and none since using the proper hardware drivers.

Its also possible that these new texture caches are leaking or not having the garbage collection done. This would explain the weapon swapping issues along with graphics artefacts and memory leaks.

We cant do bugger all if this is a texture cache leak issue as ZOS would have to check that. But you can try wiping nvidia reference drivers and installing manufacturer drivers only....and.... change your graphics to "[windowed] FULLSCREEN" and not fullscreen

Only thing I can suggest to suggest to ZOS as a quick fix is to redo patch 1.3 ..without the lighting updates and see what happens then.

My current workaround is to just exit out of the game every 1.5 hours or so.

I am already running windowed full screen. I can't run anything else with the NVIDIA bug. I really don't want to mess with my drivers after what I have been through with the NVIDIA bug. I have literally wiped my drive and installed a new OS 12 times each with different graphics drivers just to play this game so ZOS needs to figure this out and shove a hot fix our way ASAP.

They say they are "actively investigating", although I do hope that message is out of date since it has not changed for a while.

It will take them days, to prove, isolate, fix, confirm the fix, then package it for distribution. Errors like this are rarely trivial and are often very obscure.

I am going to guess that they are not working the weekend on this matter, either.

I highly doubt that 1.3.4 will have the fix for this, unless whatever it is turned out to be rather obvious.

Just a bit upsetting as when this happened in July on a Thursday they worked like mad to find it and get a hot fix out. Now..... :(

I'm not sure this is ZOS fault here...im leaning more towards a gpu driver bug.
I have been using AMD catalyst 14.7 rc dated July 10th (latest beta driver) and can confirm it runs eso buttery smooth I can play for hours without crashes or issues...it seems AMD has eso running great right now with these drivers,
if you have an AMD card, try these drivers
(...) 14.4 is bad for eso they came out before eso did.

Thank you very much @ Woodsro, your post helped me solve my problem (crash repetition) returning to an earlier version of my graphics card driver (back to the 14.1, 14.7 is not compatible with my card)
The memory leak is still there but I have no crash happened around 3.7 GB RAM, and I can once again play several hours without any major problem.

:) 1 down.... several 1000 to go lol.

This is happening on my end quite a lot. My computer has 3GB RAM and when ESO crashes Task Manager is showing ~95% physical memory usage. So after about an hour in Cyrodiil, the game crashes. :|

This was introduced with the most recent update - I've never had problems like this before.
