Templar/PvP which is better solo..Immovable or Blazing Shield

MrHemlocks
There are plenty a times I get tired of the lag and other craziness, during PvP, and just go off exploring and questing solo. Often finding enemy to run from or having to fight. When solo PvP which is the better skill for the Templar...Immovable or Blazing Shield? If you could only choose one...which would it be and why?

Blazing Shield for sure! I protects you from damage, while punishing the player who tries to (close range) attack you. Immovable only gives more armor and stun protection.

Ugh I can't choose, I use both. They do different things and Blazing Shield is also a bit of a dps skill, if you think about it.

Removed Harness Magicka/Annulment after the Blazing Shield/magicka soft cap buff though.

If I had to choose between them I would go for Immovable. It's easy for me to out heal raw damage as a Templar (as long as people aren't eating my smart heals). It's the cc that kills me. I die so damn fast in PvP when Immovable runs out, I get nailed to the ground in a spilt second and explode.

Than again the new cc-immunity makes Immovable less powerful in a 1v1 situation. This is like trying to decide which one of your children should be sacrificed to Molag Bal lol.

When in zergs fests both are necessary, if I want to solo pick out fights vs 2-3+ (finding one alone who wants to fight 1v1 is impossible) ill often only go with blazing (i have total dark to avoid sorc spam CC - otherwise BOTH)

I'm currently running both all the time on my dps bar. Immovable keeps me on my feet and BShield keeps the knowledgable people back a little. Both give me some time to heal or heavy attack which hopefully keeps the fight going long enough that someone notices and comes to help out or if I'm unlucky allows the opposition to come help kill me.

Since the buff to heavy armor, I find I don't need Immovable as much; I just break free if something hits me.

Once they fix the stunlock bug, where different types of CC like root and stun make an unbreakable stunlock, I don't think I'll need immovable at all. (I know they said they fixed the bug, but it is actually still there).

Yes, Gina actually said that (at least regarding Rushed Ceremony) right here:

I'm seriously considering Annulment with BShield as a way to keep spamming it.

I find Annulment doesn't stick as well as Immovable. "While shield holds" is the end of the sentence and I find it just gets knocked off too easily.

this is an apples and oranges question. the armour/spell res bonus from immovable doesn't mean much in pvp considering the low soft cap on armour and spell penetration that is applied in cyrodiil - what matters about immovable is the cc immunity. being cced at the wrong moment = you, dead, ESPECIALLY 1v1.

layering a blazing shield over harness magicka is no longer necessary with any reasonable amount of magicka sustain as a templar, but i'd try it out.

either way, blazing shield is one of the cheapest skills we have and it has a lot of potential for enhancing your survivability, especially if you have a lot of health. as for immovable - slot it anyway. it's even more useful if you, like me, can't reliably cc break in the middle of fights. if you had to make me pick between immovable and blazing shield i'd drop something else instead.

For soloing PvP immovable isn't mandatory. Blazing shield is better without any doubt.

both important, blazing shiels as AE and Imm. vs. "hard cc"! You also need Purge vs. root and other CC which are not countered. some cc are not breakable or can be constantly reapplied, thank to Zenimax.... :(

Immovable is overrated imo, just blocking does the same job but better.

I find myself using blazing shield a bunch for a couple of different reasons.

    1) Because of healing debuffs which shields aren't affected by (don't allways have time to cleanse)
    2) As has been mentioned before, it's a pretty decent damage ability too (even without the exploit...).
    3) It's also very mana efficient and in many cases more reliable than "smart" heals for keeping yourself alive.

If you want some suggestions for a templar healer/support, you can watch this video I took a bit earlier today:

It's a very tired me helping my guild run Mnem back home.

Btw I hope my guild won't mind me posting them blab! We're all pretty! =)

Choosing one is a self limitation. I always do better with both, so I use both.
