Will we ever get a class change mechanic at some point?

I feel the class restriction thing was contradictory to the "play as you want" (or something along the lines like that) Maybe the class system can be connected to the standing stones? Like you can only change classes once per month or something?

You could make a poll about it?

I'm agreeing that there should be a "class change mechanic". But personally, I'd want to have a cost of either Gold or AP's to "buy" a class change. The cost of the certain currency should also be pretty high - cause low prices would drive the whole mechanic to fail at some point. Everyone would switch as he/she wants - which is very inacceptable.

Switch class - yes. But please with a very high cost - &, as Elyna already mentioned, please with timer. :)

    Other opinions wished! :)

Is there a really good reason why you can't roll an alt?

You'd kinda have to anyway, to grind up the new class's level and skills. I can't think of a fair and reasonable way to let someone flip a switch to a new class without starting their progression over. The skills at the very least.

Maybe make class change restricted to VR only. And it unlocks all skills. (You still need to spend a skill point though)

So I can just grind to V1 and flip a switch to get the class I actually want and all its skills leveled up? That'd save me a lot of time right now, here I am respecing and actually working for Rank IV.

This mmo provides just about every fricckin thing one needs to be everything all the time. (*Though certainly not do anything WELL all the time, aside from frocks and sticks)...WHY would you want to change your class?

IS THERE REALLY THAT MUCH DIFFERENCE?

*Literally curious about this request. ;)

But the class skills would be at level zero, which would make them underpowered. Levelling up an alt at least allows you to get the skills up to the level you need.

Class change mechanic? Hopefully not. Also hopefully not the ability to create an instant VR12. If a game's worth playing, it's worth playing properly.

That's a bit premature to say. With Spellmaking in the works, the game is shaping up to be much like the single player games, with no defined classes. Opening up the class abilities to all players, essentially turning "class" into "the set of main abilities I have specced into at this point in time" isn't anywhere near the same thing as just handing out free VR12s.

I really wish they would remove the classes entirely , this is a huge step back of the good direction the TES games were going. You were free to be everything a little more with each game.

But if they wont remove this because it could open to even more OP combos , then atleast they should allow people to change classes so our chars dont feel so closed in.

As long as they keep the class lines together as "packages," nothing changes balance-wise except players have more freedom.

I like how Rift does it. Classes are separate but they have more skill trees (souls) and the player just picks three of the many they have.
Dear Sister, I do not spread rumors, I create them.
