Nerf Bat Swarm

I've never had a problem getting out of bat swarm, I only get killed by bats if there multiple other enemies around me, in which case I was most likely not going to survive without good healing anyway. I don't see a need to nerf it, it's pretty easy to avoid, and I don't even have bolt escape.

I play as a vamp and it makes me excited to see my death recap say "silver shards" in it. At least I know people are recognizing what to use on vampires :P Fire and bolts.

lol if your going to post idiotic ways to avoid batswarm might as well go for it properly
    1-eat an apple
    2-walk like an egyptian
    3- murbeldark your mmmeeple biscuity

these 3 will be as effective as yours.

i,m a vamp. but i recognise where its really op , not so much in damage numbers but in effect. in the heat of a fight with lots going on you can take a couple of ticks before you even realise whats going on. it lacks visible tells like say standard or nova. then you have the problem that they can still be spamming impulse while bats is going .

then it also makes them invisible. together its pretty much op.

It's safe to say that if you nerf bat swarm, there will be no reason to stay a vamp.

Yup. Or play sorc, unless you like being the support class on pvp..

    yea basically.

I don't have fun spamming healing springs or purge or w/e

So just to be clear. You're saying vampirism is the only reason why sorcs are good at all?

Offensively sorcs can do one of 2 things:

    gank

    or troll raids with streak/bats/negates

Hmm I don't know what you want to do in pvp. If you wanna zerg ball then they do that very effectively. They lend very good group mechanics with negate magic not just to.troll raids. They are probably tied effectively with nb for ganking. They still have the best escape mechanism. Sounds like you only enjoy playing it if it's mash 2 buttons win game. I hear teken 3 calling your name.

The argument is for batswarm. Streak and batswarm synergize together extremely well. If you want to nerf bats, you are effectively nerfing sorcs.
Making comments as to my skill doesn't change that fact.

Today i witnessed a neat use of inviso-batswarm during a small scale siege.

Sorc teleports into a group of players, hits swarm. When it expires, he hits swarm again. And again. And again. And... you get the picture. He was invisible and untargetable for at least two minutes, damaging everyone around him the whole time.

After that, he bolted back to safety.

You'll see it eventually. If one guy could figure out how to chain batswarms over and over, it won't be long before others catch on.

If there's enough ppl standing in his bats, not spreading, to fill his ult every 6 seconds, and they don't do anything to him or have sorcs chase him down, you want me to feel sorry for them...why?

It does not matter. Spamming ults one after another should not be possible under any circumstances. Even the devs said it was a problem in pvp.

they need to dissable or remove the passives give ultimate on kills in pvp , problem solved. the one that gives 10 ulti on kill on top of all the other normal ulti points gained while swarming make it pretty much spammable as long as you kill a couple of folk each time you use it.

Actually all they should do, is to disallow the combined usage of some skills in order to avoid the "op" synergies you get out of them.

Just like they did with mist form and lightning form for instance (you can't use both at the same time).

But another nerf to vampires is definately not needed.

Nah, all those players with bats running across cirodiil shows just how fine and not overpowered this ultimate really is, lol
It cannot be seen, cannot be felt,
Cannot be heard, cannot be smelt,
It lies behind stars and under hills,
    And empty holes it fills,
It comes first and follows after,
    Ends life, kills laughter.

Guys, it doesn't take a whole skill bar to counter a vamp sorc. Just put silver shards on your bar. If you see bats or mist, just spam them.

Damage on batswarm is generally ok, just make it so it doesnt stack so 5 people can't use it at once.
BUT the most important thing ZoS can do is to limit ultimates so the entire game doesnt revolve around using ultimates, building ultimates and increasing their damage as much as possible.
Put a proper cooldown on ultimates and stop the resto staff exploit where you can build ultimates outside of combat.

Thing is people used this tactic for a LONG time. While it looks nice it takes 1 guy with resto staff to outheal that vampire damage. Also DK using fragmented shield would just kill that vampire easily. Sorc vampires get healing through critical surge, if every noob in cyrodil started using impenetrable trait You would see less people using that ultimate. As long as there are people who don't care for how they play or what skills/ what gear they use, there will be other people that gonna farm these people easily.

Thing is 90 % of people in cyrodiil play really bad specs , bad gear and bad traits on their gear. Those people are just free kill for any decent player who knows what to do.

Group of people who die / can't kill single sorc vampire who just use batswarm -> streak are just bad, nothing to do with the ultimate.

Nerfing anything isn't the answer because all those threads are made by people who have no clue how to fight a vampire.

Yeah, nerf it... it's ridiculous (No constructive comments here, there's no need to explain the obvious).

Personally, I think it would be best to take out vamp and werewolf abilities completely from PvP. PvE I couldn't care less.

Neat , while you are doing this , also remove ALL the vampire problem with fire , the health regen issue AND the fact that they have problems with the fighters guild skill line. If you do that , then im ok with vampires losing their skills in PvP.

Vampires got huge problems to deal with for their skills , thus their skills are strong , if people try to kill one like a brainless fools and dont exploit their problems , they deserve to lose.

Hey Sharee, does anyone in your group typically have Turn Undead on their bar? Drop that baby down and stand in it. Vampires won't touch you. With that skill down, you are effectively at hardcap for both Spell Resist and Armor as well as fearing any undead for 4s when they enter into it. You can keep the ability up nearly indefinitely if you have 2 people with it. I saw a streaking Vamp pop in the middle of one. You see the bats just going in a completely random direction (they are invisible but still take status effects) since the guy was just feared. Wasted ultimate.

Also, if you are a NB, use Mass Hysteria. Does the same thing. Even in Clouding Swarm, I can still fear you since it's a PBAOE fear.

These next comments aren't meant for you Sharee.

I feel that people in general do not want to think outside the mold. There is an entire skill line dedicated at killing Vamps, yet you barely see anyone using them. They only want to use the FOTM build that someone else thought of and do not think for themselves. There are a lot of great synergies out there but everyone runs the same few specs that those synergies hardly get realized. People need to stop thinking so selfishly and understand you arent going to be able to do everything by yourself. Your one spec isnt the end all be all and there will be combo's out there that will tear you up.

Think and evolve. Stop asking for nerfs when there are mechanics in game to counter exactly what you are having trouble with.

Was messing with a group of AD last night and after a good half an hour of back and forth with them, one of them brought out silver shards and flawless dawnbreaker on me. OUCH. But that's what I love - they stopped and thought of a way to really get at me. And in turn, I stopped and thought of a way to deal with that. Put on the thinking caps and learn how to handle certain situations. That's what we are given skills for.

High numbers from tick based damage sources means nothing else but that the person in question failed to move out of the pain for a veeery long time.

Thankfully people never use these bat swarm abilities in combination with other skills that hinder or prevent people from fleeing. The Caltrops/Bat Swarm combo is something I never see ... oh wait. Never mind.

if someone used caltrops + batswarm to kill you, you should uninstall the game, lmao

Except the majority of opponents are indeed Vampires, hence this thread. If a small number of players were Vampires, you wouldn't have the outcry like you do right now. There are TONS of vampires out there and the skills are very much worth it. Give it a try. You will be surprised. Not all vampires are using Bats. Some use it for the stealth speed and you would never know they would be otherwise.

Drop a Turn Undead on a flag and watch the magic ensure.

Swarm is not OP, just make silver to hit with 100% proc again. that would be ballanced.
