Do You Want Flying Mounts

No - I don't care about lore, but I don't want flying mounts for another reason
The only flying that should EVER be allowed would be levitation/slowfall.

    They should totally add those.

None of your answers apply. I'd only want them if:
    a) a lore friendly explanation was found
    b) they were only usable in zones designed specifically for them
    c) there were mobs that could attack you while you were flying

Hm good points. However, thinking back to Wow (implemented flying mounts). The newer expansions have content that can attack you while on flying mounts, however the older zones that they enabled it in have no such enemies, so you are 100% safe. I'm fine with that (having some zones have enemies and some not).

As far as lore. They could easily bring in something with dragons or dragon kin type creatures that could be domesticated. Or any other flying creature in the game.

While I really enjoy flying in WoW, and really am not interested in slogging around on foot in WoD past level cap, (probably won't bother until a few patches, when flying MIGHT become available to the level-capped in the older zones), it seems to have opened up a can of worms over there. Ruined PvP, makes questing trivial, yada yada, which is why they're experimenting with with-holding it until further notice in new zones.

ESO doesn't really need flyers. It has a comprehensive fast-travel system; you can recall to any wayshrine from anywhere you like, if you don't mind paying a bit of gold. This system is far superior to WoW's system of scenic-route taxis. And when you run around on the ground, if you come to an area that you pacified the nasties in, chances are pretty good that you'll be phased to see those nasties as neutral this time; no having to fight the denizens of that town you burned down and did an Orkin in during that quest two levels ago.

And only Dragonborn - the special kind of Dragonborn the player is in Skyrim - are allowed to ride dragons. These are not pets, nor the more or less friendly ones from WoW, and definitely not Pernese dragons. And it was just a sort of alternate fast-travel like the carriages; and only available if you have the expansion.

Pernese dragons in ESO would be ridiculous... Not only do you get a fire-breathing flying mount, but you get one that's able to go between! Teleport anywhere you know well (translation: have visited), and even travelling through time is possible!

This one beleives it'll do the same thing it's done to other MMO's.
There is only one god and his name is Death. And there is only one thing we say to Death: “Not today...”

"We read fantasy to find the colors again, I think. To taste strong spices and hear the songs the sirens sang. There is something old and true in fantasy that speaks to something deep within us, to the child who dreamt that one day he would hunt the forests of the night, and feast beneath the hollow hills, and find a love to last forever somewhere south of Oz and north of Shangri-La."

There are lore friendly ways to do this.... like just an example... instead of them actually being a mount it could be the person morphing into something... like a vampire into a bat... elf into an owl...

Well, the real point there is Pernese dragons actually LIKE people. TES dragons, not so much. And they're definitely not genetically-engineered servants of men.

There was no option for "I do care about lore, but it's not my primary concern in this case."

*** no. Not only would it probably break the lore (unless they gave you a spell that tamed some kind of flying daedra, or a quest where a prince gave you a flying daedra as a mount), but it would ruin the fun of having to run around the world.

It wouldn't have to be a dragon per say. But some sort of dragon-kin. a drake or something similar (smaller scale). Or any other flying creature from the ES universe would suffice as well.

That said, they need to worry about fixing the horrible game systems and UI before adding anything new.

I think flying mounts is doable, but it would have to be lore sensitive, and it would probably require overhauling regions to be flying friendly as well. I don't think it would ruin the fun of having to run around the world since you can pretty much teleport wherever you want to go anyway.

I think wow is a great example to why flying mounts shouldn't be added. They are even experimenting by removing flying mounts for multiple patches or more in Draenor. (The new expansion)

    With flying:
    • Makes leveling easier (Read below)
    • Makes all ground mobs obsolete considering you can just fly over them
    • Makes the community less interactive
    • Makes the world seem more empty since everyone would be flying to places
    • Makes the world seem smaller

In Outland, they do have cannon and guards that can shoot you down; Pandaria has guards that can shoot you down, too, in Krasarang Wilds (where most of the Horde vs Alliance war story happens.)

Frankly, I don't agree with the reasons why they're removing/delaying flying, but the list presented above pretty much covers the complaints about it that really didn't pop up until Pandaria (though only Cataclysm allowed you to fly right away), with the omission of "it ruined wpvp".

I might check it out when they enable flying at level cap (which might be a year or two from now, for all I know) except to pick up my 10th anniversary and Christmas gifts.
