Dragons? (or some other epic battle, doesn't have to be a dragon, that is just an example)

There are 17 known Deadric planes to go to (plus thousands of unknown ones) and also there are the 8 Aedric planes where the "good" Gods live and thousands of unknown ones. Each star in the night sky was made by a "God" who left before they finish making Nirn and they still have most of their power left too.

They are many ways to add content with out breaking lore.

cool, those planes will have dragons waiting for us.

Well I definitely think an epic battle will work. However, I'm tired of fighting Dragons. It's overdone. Undead and Demons are close to being overdone also.

Let's find a different epic battle.

That's why it says or some other epic battle, the dragons were just an example, I'm sure there are numerous creatures that could be used, I just was suggesting a massive battle that would take a sizable group to defeat.

Switch it up. Aedra get ticked and try to smite/wipeout an unholy world.... Must use good Daedra to combat threat

There is only one god and his name is Death. And there is only one thing we say to Death: “Not today...”

Anyone that played DAoC will remember: Cuuldurach the Glimmer King, Gjalpinulva, and Golestandt. I would really like to see something like this implemented into ESO, the fights were great and sometimes even getting to the dragons was a battle in itself, maybe there are no dragons in this time period, I'm not sure, but if not maybe some other kind of epic battle that would take a sizable group to defeat with maybe some special loot you can only get from said encounter.

Dragons were mythic in the era this mmo is set in. Its over 1000 years before skyrim, when dragons resurface because of the events in that game. Previously there had been a war with the dragons, an uprising by humanoid folk against the dragon overlords and their dragon-priest allies. Those events virtually destroyed the dragon population. Reducing them to a very insignificant number to the point where they became very endangered and shunned humanoid races because of dragon hunters. In this era there are probably no more than 15-20 dragons across the whole world, all hiding in forgotten places, retreating from any humanoid creature or other aggressors and never entering combat, hunting for prey secretively. It was very hard for dragons. And they would go on to spend the vast bulk of the time between ESO and skyrim, re-populating.

This alone is reason why it would NOT break lore. Having a single (or a few) boss encounters with the few remaining dragons, fits in perfectly.

They will have Dragons. It is only a matter of time. I mean....how much longer can the design team keep making boss monsters that are just mobs who are reskinned are bigger?

Oh and if you think they didnt put an art model in this game for Dragons...you are seriously in need of some sense.

you're right, they are just going to smash lore to pieces and that would be a great design decision.

not really. There are creative ways to do it without breaking the lore. I wouldnt be so linear about it. A number of quest send you to different time periods in this game and one even takes you to a "what if" future about a girl....

why is everyone's answer to breaking lore time travel? No. I shouldn't even have to explain why the use of time travel should be minimal, and what a weak premise it is.

No thanks, no dragons. Would break lore completely.

we know for a fact in the lore that a small number of them survived well into the start of the fourth era.

hell lore supports that many helped Tiber septim in his campains of conquest.. in return for being protected from being hunted... and desite their help, they were hunted to extinction anyways...

Since this game takes place well before the time of Tiber Septim, we know from lore that there are in fact at least a dozen or so dragons still surviving in obscurity.

No lore would be broken by their addition and it is only a matter of time before we get a dragon fight...

Time to brush up on your lore!

Dragons aside, i would love to see another fight with a deadric prince, maybe one of the less (take over the world) ones and more of the ones that just (like a good fight to prove themselves) like malacath.

I also love the Deadric Titans in this game, honestly i liked them better than the dragons in some ways... maybe versions of those aligned to the other Deadric princes..

can you imagine a Light orented, meridia aligned Deadric Titan?

So, I went back and looked over my original post and I can't find anywhere that I said ESO should look like any other game, I did see where I said an epic fight would be a cool idea to be implemented, something for high level players to do other then trials and pvp. An epic fight would be a great addition, doesn't have to be dragons, something more "lore friendly" would work just as good. If you've never done a 50-100 player battle against an epic enemy, you should try it, you might like it, and if you have, you know how much fun it is.

Don't necessarily need dragons, but some sort of awesome world bosses like those dragons from DAOC would be absolutely awesome. And if they dropped ability respecs like from DAOC, than people would flock to them. Only issue here is how often would they spawn...cause in DAOC they spawned once a week for 1 server, which was a good length for that many people. But this game has that mega server with people phasing in and out so I don't know how you would space it or implement it.

Please no I hated the world bosses in gw2 because my whole screen became a blob.

Also the game is designed in a way for old hardware to play it ok, these fights would be content that alot of players would not be able to do.

omg boo hoo. So you would rather prevent other people from playing a better game with more content, because some people don't want or can't invest in a better computer? How selfish.

There actually are dragons in Daggerfall, which takes place in the 3rd Era, called Dragonlings. You could even learn the Dragonish language to keep them from attacking you. But it was later retconned that they aren't dragons at all.

Zenimax could still add Dragonlings to ESO and continue to pretend they aren't baby dragons, even though they fly and breathe fire, and it wouldn't hurt the lore.

This is what I have been saying, it doesn't have to be dragons, any epic world boss that would take a sizable group such as the ones it took to defeat the dragons in DAoC... it could be a giant killer bunny rabbit, or a guar the size of a battle ship, the point is to have an epic world boss, the focus on dragons derailed the main point of the thread.

There where dragons alive & prolly active in 2nd Era, just because current lore says "Nobody knows where they where" it doesn't mean there is no room for there.

He was last seen in the Reach in 2E 212[1] and didn't show up again until 4E 201

In 2E 864 Cyrus infiltrated the Palace of Stros M'Kai through the Catacomb in order to acquire the soul gem. Cyrus was confronted by Nafaalilargus. After a long difficult battle, Cyrus managed to kill Nafaalilargus.
    So he was alive before

    http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Ahbiilok
Ahbiilok was a dragon that survived extermination during the Dragon War and the Akaviri crusades of the First Era.

Sightings date back to the early years of the Akaviri Dragonguard throughout the northern Jerall Mountains. Multiple attempts were made to kill him, but all failed. He was reported to have fled to Morrowind.

Eat that you "No, not in Lore" people.

I bet we'll eventually have an End Game raid with dragons.

Agreed, although I don't know if we will have dragons or not for certain.. no one can be but that would be fun. I loved the dragon fights in Skyrim.

You want dragons, Missy? Well, I'm gonna tell you how to get one, in three easy steps:

    1. Log out, go back to the character creation screen, and roll yourself a Dragon Knight.
    2. Put the wings, the fire breath, the talons, and the dragon blood on your bar.
    3. Find a good role-playing guild and introduce yourself as a priest of Akatosh.

Problem solved. Worship the dragon, Baby. BE the dragon, OKRRRR?
