Character movement locked

I had this problem once a few weeks ago and it was fixed after a restart of ESO. Now it happens all the time with all characters and it got suddenly fixed by itself for a little period. I even bought a new keyboard thinking it may be the cause but no luck.

The problem now is when I select the character to run/walk using the keyboard keys w a s d he continues to walk in the same direction and I cannot change to another one or stop him not even change the camera with the mouse. So if there is a cliff ahead he will fall down for example and that means death...of course I can't even think I can go adventure with him...

Is this some problem with lag with the server as I suppose now? The fact that it fixes itself sometimes can be an indication. Someone experienced the same problem?

edit: I send a ticket but still no response from Zenimax.

    Yup, same issue here.
There is also the issue where I can get rooted for no reason and only a relog will fix it, note I can still cast spells, just not move. No, it's not a CC as there are no mobs around and I have no debuffs.

I made a video, hope it will help even though we can't see when I try to change movement. It will take some time to upload. Maybe a mod can merge this post with the other relevant to the same issue titled : "Good job fixing last month's lag issues. Let me introduce you to this month's lag issue."

After submitting the ticket I got a quick response from Zenimax 's customer support team. After some investigation and communication they found that the problem was not a lag problem but a startup program that runs in the background and that took away some necessary ressources of my computer (laptop) that barely met the minimum requirements to run the game already (GeForce G 105M). Now the game runs fine, I have only to find wich program it is and test one by one so I only have to deactivate this program.

Maybe this can help other people that have a similar problem. Check the background programs at startup. A big thanks to all the support team that were very nice, helpfull and competent to help me solve the issue.

I have the same problem, my ticket contents:
Whenever my characters (all) move via the wasd/arrow keys the camera (3rd person) becomes fixed and no matter how much I move my mouse (Steelseries) the camera doesn't move, the freelook (MMB) doesn't work either. In addition when I let go of the wasd/arrow keys my characters keep on running as if auto run is enabled (which is definitely not the case). They tend to keep running for between 2 and 6 seconds before they stop in their tracks and suddenly the camera pans again.

This happens in busy areas as well as on empty fields, it occurs at normal playing graphics as well as on very low graphics, it happens with addons enabled as well as with all addons disabled, it also happens with different mouse and keyboard and I even unistalled ESO, did a clean reinstall and it's still occuring.

I am expierincing this on version 1.3.3, however on the forums I have seen people reporting this issue as of version 1.2.3. Also have seen on the forums that it might have something to do with programs running in the background, though I have no different (in fact less) programs running in the background than before this problem started occuring.

Is there anything that can be done about this, because as it stands I can't even adaquately navigate through Elden Root.

I am getting this now too. Complete loss of control at seemingly random times. I am using a Razer Naga which worked fine until latest patch.
My character will just start running sideways, forwards, backwards whatever without any input from me. I can just take my hands off the keyboard and mouse and watch my guy just take off. It is bizarre. I have repaired the game. Im thinking of reinstalling the mouse driver, or alternatively, not using a Razer driver at all. Anyone know where I can find the Razer driver on my Mac so I can delete it?
    Any ideas for us?

Try to launch msconfig and prevent startup programs (except antivirus) from running. Then see if the problem is solved , then it's one of those programs that takes ressources away from ESO. Try then to localize the program responsible by selective startup. That's how my problem was fixed so maybe it can help too.

I goofed and asked in the wrong forum. I'm on a Mac. But thanks for your effort.

I get this too on occasion, sometimes I can get out of it by double tapping movement keys, hitting ESC several times rapidly, or going to log out then hitting ALT to cancel logout before the logout timer gets to zero. Sometimes I have to aim myself at a wall or rock away from enemies and fully log out.

Just to be clear for any doubters, it does this occasionally no matter what keyboard I use, or which computer I use - it is NOT due to the keyboard alone.
