Please change the visual effects of Bound Armor

The visual effects of Bound Armor is completely off putting with all of the newly introduced customization available through dyes and guild tabards. A skill shouldn't overwrite that customization with bland, grey armor.

Please consider changing the effects of this skill so that when toggled on it simply gives Sorcs a purple aura. It's a great skill, but it's so awful looking I can't stand using it.

    Myself and others have brought this up in the past, glad to see more aren't fond of it. I mean the thing actually thinks it's a costume. You can use the 'hide helmet option' through gameplay settings. Put any costume (Besides tabards) and it will untoggle Bound armor, tested.

    Many believe it should have a a visual effect, but there's no reason why it should completely consume your entire armor. Myself I believe it should become an opaque effect of sorts. Maybe a pallet swap of already existing skills (buffs?) would be better.


    Edit: Just to clarify many sorcs in the community have complained about this far before the patch. It's not just about not being able to dye it (I mean it's just normal daedric heavy in discoball form). We want to see our actual armor.

    ugh try playing Nightblade, Dragon Knights get these beautiful weapon effects, Sorcs get that awesome blue fire and we get some sort of strange red blobs on our weapons.

    Does anyone know if this has even been addressed by ZOS? Are we going to get an option to actually have our newly dye'd armor up with a toggle or something???

    A toggle option would be nice. Personally, my main motivation for slotting this skill at all, is the look of the armour, so I certainly wouldn't want it to go away. But options would be nice!

    Bound Armour in general needs an overhaul. Personally, I rarely find it useful; I usually take it as a filler defensive skill for situations where recasting is an annoyance; but I would take evasion over it any day of the week. I do agree visuals are lackluster, although not awful. Right now I only use it as a tactical advantage to dupe players into thinking im a tank if I'm running light arm. Personally i hate the shoulders. I would be content with dye customization.

    I think the bound armor looks awesome. Feel free to mock me or whatever suits you. Fact: if you somehow get them to change it to evasion I will find you and murder you. (hyperbole) It is an essential skill for tank sorcs that want to use light armor. Also looking like shredder from the teenage mutant ninja turtles is a plus for me. Perhaps it can be morphed between a more tank friendly or a more conventional sorc skill. However the use of costumes negating it is concerning so yes by all means fix that.

    +1 for this, I've asked for this to be a simple toggle like the helmet. If you don't like the bound armor appearance you should simply be able to go into settings and toggle it off.

    At least it's useful and a toggled buff. The Nightblade Blur only lasts 20 seconds. I have no idea why that's not a toggle too.

    Omg thx you for this thread. I have a sick looking cloth armor set and then I click bound armor and barf. Not everyone want to look like that. People have invested alot into the look of their character we dont want it overwritten with somthing that RUINS ARE IMMERSION.. PLS CHANGE IT.

    Guess this is a necro, but totally agree. I don't think Bound Armor looks bad though, but if I want to look like a robed sorcerer and not a heavy armored warrior I can't use Bound Armor. Guess we all have to make choices though :-p

    Would love bound weapon though... mmmm

    If they ever add a goblin morph, or any other cosmetic I really want, I'll just have to give up Bound Armor.

    Or maybe they'll fix it :)
