Public Merchant woes

The public auction house/trade system for guild is a cool idea but I fear it is majorly flawed. The game really should just use a public AH. This is why your new system will fail.

1. It WILL be seriously abused by gold farmers and their guilds who can and will bid higher than anyone else.
2. Cross Faction guilds will grief other factions by using their stores.
3. I noticed when bidding on a merchant for my guild that it says the bidding is final and will not be refunded. Does this mean even if we lose we are not refunded? Do you not understand how bidding on an item works? This is not BETTING... a very different thing, this is bidding. We need to have our gold returned if we do not win.
4. Sniping.... You need to have set amount % bid before u can bid again.. This is to prevent people from sniping. Soon bots and 3rd party apps will emerge that will support sniping.

Please address these issues ZOS. Along with many other simple fixes you seem to overlook that drive so many of us fans crazy.

Really though... do they not know the difference in bidding/betting?

    1. Gold-farmers (at least the ones of the illegal variety) don't have guilds. And in order to have the highest bid in every store, there would need to be someone parked at ever single guild merchant location. It ain't happening.
    2. Guilds are all cross-faction.
    3. I'm not sure if a bid is refunded. Probably ask a GM about that.
    4. Bots aren't allowed, so ZO should deal with the bots rather than change the system. Bots exploit any variation of a system.

    1. Wat. Do you understand gold farmers want to make gold, not spend it. More importantly, how would an auction house fix this?
    2. How? I seriously don't understand this one.
    3. You can't cancel your bid. Just like a real auction, your bid is final, unless someone out bids you. How would an auction house fix this anyway?
    4. Welcome to bidding. Bid on something on Ebay, happens all the time.

How would an auction house fix any of the "problems" you've brought up.

Except, at a real auction, if i don't win, i don't lose any money.

    In response to your response:

    1. Yes they do. I can point you to whole cells of Indonesian farmers who farm the same public dungeons 24/7 every day and never leave who all are grouped together and guilded. Funny players can find these but ZOS cant?
    2. Cross faction but dont really function as cross faction. Some do, but most dont.
    3. As of now we dont really know but Jusdging from what the tooltip reads I fear the worst... ZOS clarification please? Betting isnt Bidding.
    4. of course they aren't allowed. Will they ever go away? No. This system will easily be exploited.

Finding and proving are two different things, and even if they prove that those characters are farming, you then have to prove that it's for illgotten reasons. If ZOS just started banning people without evidence, then it would be a legal and PR nightmare for them, just as it was the first time they did it.

your 3rd point I believe means once you make a bid you can't undo it, it's there till the auction is over, I'm not sure when you get your money back, if someone bids higher than you or at the end of the auction but I'm pretty sure you get it back if you don't win.

Even if I'm wrong and ZOS decided to implement a massive gold sink, how would an auction house fix any of this
