Does this game need more gore?

Yes, they should turn up the gore.
Gore like decapitation and stuff like that, don't really care for that. But increasing the amount of blood in the game, i surely wouldn't mind it. I don't mean horror games level, and not the silly amount of blood FEAR 2 had.

I also support the idea that extra blood could be toogled, Can't have exciting sword fights without blood. I also wouldn't mind to see some blood on my sword after a fight.

My biggest concern is how they will handle the perfomance, and if they deem it as a too big reource hog, then i accept. And it definitiley shouldn't be high priority.

But meh. That's just a singleplayer's opinion. But in my opinion. Afterall this is an Elder Scroll title... I love the feeling previous Elder Scrolls had, and blood is definitely something that increased that feeling of this fantasy setting and the war and chaos going on.

And besides, i think it's even the fewest of us that has sadistic thoughts behind our answer. Just merely for an extra nift to immersion.

I guess I'm the only one who has gotten hit by thrown weapons and am spurting blood for the next few seconds.

I realize you mean more blood from the person you are fighting, but there is a fine line to draw to keep the blood and death from just looking cartoonish and silly.

In just finished a quest where some guy was skinning people and wearing their faces, and I got to see the results. So not bad. However, to justify my $15 per month, I think I should be able to see the actual skinning in process.

Playing Dragon Age, the gore started to become distracting and turned it off eventually. Maybe go be a vamp and watch the gory feeding? Lol

To be blunt though, I think the developers time can be better spent on other things.

    No...

Some players would leave if they turn up the gore...

Because they don't have very strong stomachs.

And besides that, that would be a heck of a lot of additional UI and visual work...and right now, they've got enough on their plate already.

    It's not needed.

I've seen games with the gore, it takes up processing power and after a while you tune it out. So why bother.

I haven't missed that, neither do I think it'll improve the game (except for making your graphics card work harder, especially in large scale pvp)

I voted yes, but not because I necessarily think there should be more gore (though I wouldn't object to the option being given for those who want it); I think Zenimax should own the M rating, now that they have it and aren't fighting it. I want the story/setting/etc. to be darker and more dangerous in tone. The Secret World has a few issues for sure, but very few could argue that their atmosphere isn't perfect, and I wouldn't mind seeing that same creepiness and dangerous feeling brought to this game.

...because the camera splatter effect from Age of Conan was ludicrous.

Given the current track record I have to say that the fewer changes Zenimax attempts to make to the game the better we're all be, so I'd rather they didn't just to provide some 90s-esque we're-so-dark-and-edgy style.

Most modern videogames do not even begin to accurately show realism when it comes to gore.

I don't know if there's an accepted standard of censorship or what, but If you put in that you are 18+ you should be allowed access to higher and more realistic gore.

Blood and gut pixels don't cause PTSD, unless your severely underdeveloped.

I voted yes, but I should clarify I don't want a horror game... just something Skyrimesque with good kill cams and a little blood. I'm ok with it being slightly more than vanilla skyrim though, hook up the enhanced blood textures mod :p

It needs more mature content since it is rated mature. From what I have seen it should be rated lower but since it's not I would like to see more mature content.

As long as they already have the M rating they might as just go with it. Personally, I'd like the game to be a bit more bloody. I love that blood-soaked look that vampires get briefly after feeding.

As long as it wouldn't impact performance, I say "why not".

lol at this question. This game needs a lot of things. Who cares about gore. That's so damn minor. But knowing Zenimax, adding a little bit of blood splatter would turn out to be some huge update that takes a month to make and it is riddled with bugs.

For a game with an 'M' rating that claims to have 'blood and gore', it does feel overly tame for the most part.

Would be cool if they added executions to mobs that are low on hp (like 5% hp) so you can chop their head of, or slit their throat or something like that, since they already added the Incineration, disintegration and the freezing I think they could pull it off.

I see it like this, when im in a massive pvp battle I want to see ligaments, and pink mist everywhere, especially when I see someone 6 meters away get decked by a siege weapon, lol. Im just one for the heat of the battle and what better way to get the blood flowing then seeing your enemies personal appendages fall off! Hail Hail Man'O War kills!!!! #darkmoment

I would like it for realism reasons but this was brought up in a PvP interview some time ago with ESO elite.

They said they can't do it because its still rated pegi 16 in Europe.
