Enough about black, who do I need to sleep with in order to unlock Power Ranger Pink?

    Me my friend... Me.

    How is unlife treating you?
FYI - There is no such thing as 'night capping' in a world wide MMO.
FYI - There was no paid Beta. When they launched the game the Beta was over, even if you don't think it was.
    FYI - It's B2P not F2P. There is a difference.
FYI - It doesn't take any player skill to mash keys or buttons in this game. The ones that stay alive longer have the better internet connection and speed.
FYI - The game is not broken, it still works. It just has 'bugs' that need to be fixed.
    Balance is a "Bad" thing.

Example: There were hundreds of Jedi and only two Sith in Star Wars. The Jedi wanted, "Balance in the Force" and they got it. Now there are only two Jedi and two Sith.

    Balance is a "Bad" thing.

I like what I've seen of the dye system so far. I also think it makes sense that some colors are hard to get (among them some colors that are very "desirable"). Finally something to work on that not every other VR 12 will have. This MMORPG(!) needs more grinds like this or people will quit once they reach max level!
Of course they are going to make the popular colors linked to harder achievements. They want you to play the game, work for it and feel the accomplishment.

That sort of accomplishment should come from actually accomplishing something, not mindlessly grinding out PVP points. The reward should be something that makes your character unique, more powerful. Putting a COSMETIC item at the end of that carrot stick smacks of little more than punishment of the OCD gamer mindset, and trying to force more people to try something they hate in ANY MMO.

This is NOT the same as incentivizing the grind with meaningful rewards.

If they want to make certain colors hard to get that is fine, but don't force people to play a part of the game that disgusts them in ANY MMO because of the sort of people it attracts (PVP) in order to get it.

Make the same dye available through some difficult or long grindy achievement in PVE play as well. There should be two paths to achieve any dye, if this is to remain a "play how you want" game.

No purely cosmetic item, particularly a desirable one, should be made available exclusively through PVP grinding.

If it was actually a reward that made them more powerful, you'd really complain that you were being forced to PvP. It's good that it's a cosmetic item.

Still, that stuff about Noxophilic black being the best is bull. They knew Legate was the best black all along.

Now you don't have a Legate to stand on. LOL

Keep in mind that some of the pvp colors will be unattainable for many pvp players for years.

Those ranks do not come easily.I was about to get veteran rank 2 when the servers came down. I pvp casually (more now than I was while I had quests to do) the progress to veteran rank 1 and to rank 2 was very slow. You can't just grind it out in a day, maybe a few if you pvp all day. But they get progressively harder to obtain.

You know there is such a thing as being "too black" - a colour so dark you can not physically see the contours and the detail besides the outline.
Scientists are thinking about using it on dresses.

Why would you want the darkest blacks, seems counter productive to showing off your character.

The best black (and one of about 2-3 I have with the word black in them) is coldharbour, the rest look odd shades of grey.

Why would you want to be the same color as 80% of the rest of the players in the game anyway? Black is a conformist color

    *looks for sarcasm mark*

Have you looked around? Everyone is black and red.

Not everyone, my Templar is light blue and silver, and my Sorc os Dark blue and a light blue highlights.

But my DK is Red and Black, well he is a Dunmer DK.

I want a black so black that light fails around it like a black hole, and everywhere my character walks is just a cloudy black blob.

Just completing coldharbour gets you a nice black.

You don't even need to complete coldharbour... Just the chapter 6 of the main story.

It does actually give me a reason to do stuff I might not otherwise have any interest in doing just to make my character(s) look cooler.

What's that quote? "There's a sucker born every minute"? You're being conned into playing content you don't like, which means you're that much slower getting through the content you do like, which means you're keeping your subscription going longer. Which means you're paying more money to have less, on average, fun. And, amusingly, you seem to somehow think that's a GOOD thing.
