That says "We knew black would be a popular color, and we chose not to make it hard to get. The artists designated one of our nine black dyes as the “best” and distributed the color, which was called Noxophilic Black, to the achievement for becoming a vampire. Another of the shades was given to a tough Trials achievement. "
So it sounds like there will be at least 9 different ways to get a shade of black dye.

You think you've got it bad, I'm out any color associated with PvP, trials, Craglorn, veteran level content, vampires or werewolves.I am not spending a single penny on the game until changes are made to the game that I want to see.
1) Remove having to be in a guild to sell items to other players at a kiosk.
2) Cosmetic modding for armor and clothing.
3) Difficulty slider.
4) Fully customizable player housing that isn't tied to anything in the game other than having the correct resources and enough gold to build. Don't tie it to PvP, guild membership, or anything at all. Oh, make it instanced so as not to take up world map space, too. Zeni screwed this one up already.
Any /one/ of these things implemented would get me spending again, maybe even subbing.20 -

✭✭You can have an alt as a vampire, keep in mind its acc wide. Your main doesn't need to be a Vampire or a pvp hero to unlock the dyes

✭✭✭✭IMO the dyes are pretty well spread out. They definitely did a good job in this area. As long as you have been playing the game regularly, you should get a pretty nice set of dyes. The blackest black is from finishing the main quest... research. Vampires too as others have stated. You literally have to squint your eyes to even see a difference between them and the pvp one - and even then the pvp one is lighter.
Should be some effort in the game to get cool things because as it is 70% of the playerbase is going to be black/red 20% hot/candy pink for the luls and 10% will be unique.Edited by Laura on August 1, 2014 4:09AM4 -

Warrior’s Steel and Legate’s Black are the hard to get blacks.

The fact that we could buy and sell on GW2 also made it easier for everyone to gather the ones they liked.
Oh and it was nice for guilds.

considering no one has even got Legate yet.
I agree that it was a bad choice picking Legate, maybe a lower PvP rank would of suited it better, like Sergeant or First Sergeant?2 -
