My question: I have earn some crafting achievements (IE know more then 100 recipes, but got credit for only 7), will that be part of the fix also?

I have made several yellow / gold rated armors, but did not get credit for those either.

They will most likely fix things that involve you learning a recipe/motif, but the game wasn't tracking your crafting activity prior to this. I don't know that there's any way for them to know whether you crafted gear prior to the patch.

I'd like to see an official response for this. You might be right. But, how do we know they haven't accounted for this? Maybe this is just a bug?

Like you wrote, the server can definitely account for how many recipes I've learned. That information isn't transient. Yet, they did not (i.e. its a bug).

So, how do you know they weren't accounting for crafting activity? What is your source?

This also happened to me. Almost all my crafting achievements (of the new ones) were 'completed' already and I didn't get credit.

They have at least acknowledged that the recipes achievement issue is being investigated (so it's an issue): http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/discussion/123207/broken-achievements

And how do I know they weren't tracking it? Because there was no achievement for it prior to this patch, and it would have been pointless to track. The achievements that count performed activities are going to start from 0, because they can't go back in time and start counting from before they were implemented.

Them not tracking things I can easily do over is one thing. Not dinging the rare motif achievement annoys me to no end. My main is a master crafter, knows all the motifs, and also has over 100 recipes.

No way am I learning those items over again.

No way for a VR12 to learn 100 recipes when only VR5 recipes drop.

I 100% agree with you Khami.

    Anyone has the deconstruction achievement?

All crafts level 50 and no need for deconstruction anymore, now it just bugs me that the achievement is at 0/100
People keep telling me they're gonna buy me an ale. They never do.

There are only two things I can't stand in this world. People who are intolerant of other people's culture. And the Elves.

So, how do you know they weren't accounting for crafting activity? What is your source?

Straight from the Patch Notes for v1.3.3:
At a dye station, you can see every color available. Dyes you haven't obtained yet are displayed with a lock icon. Hover over any locked color to see which achievement is associated with it. You can right-click on it to jump to the achievement panel and read the achievement's completion criteria. When a dye is unlocked, it will be available for all characters on your account.

The game tracks all data, from motifs, dungeons, trials, kills, and recipes you gather, and thensome. There's an issue with the achievement system if it not only rollsback all those already earned achievements from things like dungeons but also states that you don't have the motifs or recipes for your character that has already used them since those cannot be used again to get the achievement, and in the case of the recipes, you can't loot lower-level recipes at all.

ZeniMax does need to fix that as it's an issue with the current system in place with the Achievements. It's been a known issue with character progression not being properly tracked with each major content update we've had to the game fundamentally breaking the Achievements earned.

And according to what we've heard from the developers, they do intend to fix those achievements. It's only the new achievements that are counting performed actions which will be starting from 0. Learned recipes/motifs are clearly already in the system, and the achievements just need to be fixed to reflect that.

Like I said, Recipes/Motifs used on your character are saved server-side. That information 'CAN' be tracked, which is how you see add-ons like Sous Chef and AI Research Grid exist, in the first place. The same can be said about Dungeon and Quest Achievements for those you have already completed as well.

When Achievements are added to the game, there is supposed to be a backlog of Achievements that were already earned attributed to your character upon finishing the update and logging into the game on said character as Achievements are not handled account-wide (only dyes are, in that regard). By only counting Achievements 'after' the fact that they are added for areas like Recipes/Motifs or Quests you've already done that you can't go back and do again, three things that are permanent uses and things attributed to character progression, it is clear that the Achievements system isn't working as intended.

ZeniMax doesn't intend on any of your characters missing out on Achievements added into the game because you simply didn't make that character before the new achievement was added. So what? If a "Used 500 Recipes Achievement" got added into the game in a year's time, it would only say "6" even though your character has "391 'Known' Recipes"? That doesn't make the least bit of sense.

It's clear this functionality is bugged right now. ZeniMax is working towards a fix.

Yes, they are being fixed, but the question is: are they being fix in THIS hot fix on Monday? What are the list of details for this hot fix?

We don't know, and they're not going to tell us until they finalize the patch notes.
