Unplayable EU lag

Everyone (who responded in zone chat in Rivenspire at least) seem to get the same 15+ sec lag spikes when nothing works..(looting, mounting, vendors, craft stations... like if we all lost connection for several seconds)
It's a pure pain just to move around Shornhelm, we don't even dare go out of it to quest.

Indeed. The game is unplayable at the moment and I'm very very sure it's not my internet connection causing the problems (like Zenimax replied to my ticket).

So many people from different countries and surely different internet providers are having the very same lag problems. My friends are having the same problems. It's difficult to even get through conversations with NPCs or open up containers, the character becomes totally unresponsive for seconds at a time etc.

The lag is simply horrible atm. I do understand problems arise and need time to get fixed. I only wish Zenimax would acknowledge this problem and start looking for a solution.

I started a thread about 'rubber banding' that seems to be lag related yesterday.

My character was moving around map then suddenly 'rubber banding' back to a previous position.

Seems that the problem I was having (not been back in game yet) is directly related to the issues at hand in this thread.

I supposed that the issue was caused by the client and server being out of kilter - a communication issue. I know not the true cause though.

When I get back into game it will be interesting to see if these issues persist.

There seems to be a lot of dropped TCP/IP packets happening. No way for me to say if it is on my end, on their end or somewhere in between, but seeing how many people report this issue, I would say it is either a problem with the service provider for the server park not having a good enough service, or a larger issue with the connections to Frankfurt from various regions in the EU.

: shrug : guess I am lucky, I have no problems what so ever since the move. Also, Frankfurt has one of the best internet infrastructures in the EU, so I highly doubt it's that. Try to do a ping test (pingtest.net) to Frankfurt and you will see your packet loss and jitter.

Hmmmm, evidently it is not something on the way to Frankfurt then, it is either the actual datacenters are still having some epic teething, or something else.

Well, it's there and it's terrible, it takes forever to talk to an NPC or even enter a house.. I don't dare trying to fight

If the game has crap netcode then it has crap netcode, nothing about Frankfurt is going to change that.

The lag seems to be the worst in Shornhelm, then lesser in whole Rivenspire... after moving on to Alik'r, I haven't noticed any lag at all anymore.

Maybe it's something directly related to that city.

Well, its obviously -not- the net code, otherwise -everyone- would be getting this problem, which they are not. It has to be something either on the players end, OR something going terribly wrong at the datacenter itself. I had horrible lag spikes and latency before the datacenter move, now I have next to no lag (now 15ms v then 300 ms) and at most 10 percent of the lag spikes I had before.

It's a bit odd, I got about a bit last night with a vet character as I was hunting for skyshards I'd missed, these lag spikes are long and if fighting you end up dead. In between the spikes the game is responsive and better than it ever was when the server was in the US.

Glenumbra - didn't happen at all.

Stormhaven - didn't happen at all.

    Rivenspire - awful, happened frequently.

    Alik'r - happened occasionally.

    Bankori - happened occasionally.

Auridon, terrible, worst of all, I'd rather iron my *** than play there, which is pretty pants as that's where my quest stages are at the moment :(
