Thieves Guild / Dark Brotherhood Early Question

I know it's quite a while off till we get these added but......
I'm wanting to get a new char ready for my 'evil days' ahead and i'm wondering will there be a level requirement for these guilds or will they be do'able from Level 1?

ie, should I get a char sorted to say level 20 now or is it worth waiting so I can run thru the whole storyline again with a 'very different' feel. (help people then stab them in the back and rob them as i'm leaving the room)

Any hints?

    Your "new char" will be Level 50 VR 15 before they push this out.

    Planning ahead, I am all for it, but this is a little early. I think that the last Road Ahead that even mentioned it was in May. We will see for the August Road Ahead, which is likely being written now, but my guess is that it is more than two updates away at this point.

    LOL they have not even implemented 25% of the crap they spouted in the june road ahead road ahead. honestly i don't think we will see the 2 additional guilds until the console release is a few months old. PC is the beta test for console im getting the feeling.

    His character won't be VR anything once the Champion system goes live, and that's supposed to be within 2 updates.

    The only thing they haven't been clear on is whether the justice system and Thieves Guild/DB content will release at the same time. If they do, it's been sounding like we'll see them by the end of the year (or very early next year). If not, I'd imagine that the guild content will closely follow the justice system.

    My feelings would be that the Justice system will need released and then debugged with live server action. THEN the road will be paved for Thieves and Dark Brotherhood. I.E.....quite a bit away.

    By the time the new guilds are out there will be scaling to solo instances, so no matter what level you are it will be a challenge. I will assume it be like mages/FG, it makes the most sense.

    Lol, my main in only just VR2......I have never grasped how people can 'powerlevel' chars. I just get bored after 10 of the same mob and go looking for Squirrels or something :)

    Yes it does. When the Champion system goes live, anyone who is already VR1+ will have that XP converted into champion levels.

    I would hope that by that time, all Guild quests like these would be scaled up if you are above their level, but they would still have a base level the same as the other guild quests (5, 8, 15, 25, 33, 43).

    there are no champion levels they are champion points. you get 1 point for every 100k exp. the VR lvls will still be there only the VR EXP will not be there it will be normal EXP gain so no more VR EXP conversion . making VR lvls easier to get through. Another implementation will be season gear which will be similar to gear score in WOW. champion points are different from VR lvls . there will still be VR lvls i repeat still be VR 1-12 levels. and 2 more updates means champion system will be in in 6 months, dont go planning your game play around that.next two update will be fluff again, maybe some fixes for melee and rescaling of the VR dungeons. We are on the road to freemium sorry to say.

    There won't be. Persistence of asking finally got an answer to this last week:

    It's very frustrating to have no comm on the subject from ZOS. The whole thing is confusing and most info we have is from speculation.

    This discussion I had with @Laura sums up the confusion quite well:

    they are NOT taking the veteran ranks out and you will earn champion points while you rank up.

    It is still under speculation that all gear may be set to 50 though.

    There is an extensive interview on esotr about this

    @Laura Have you got a link to that interview? It definitely hasn't been made very clear whether the end-result Champion system is an outright replacement to Veteran Ranks or being added as a parallel.

    Personally I would like it as a parallel, that way there is both the horizontal progression of Champion Ratings and the vertical progression of Vet Ranks.

    @Enodoc

    http://elderscrollsotr.mymiddleearth.com/2014/07/11/episode-118-update-3-w-paul-sage/

    this interview is long and I don't remember where he said it but I know he explicitly said they are NOT removing veteran ranks when it was asked in the interview.
    That's great, thanks. +1 to the count of "parallel" then :P
    Parallel leads 3:1 over replacement
    Having just listened to the whole section on the Veteran System update, I still think it's ambiguous. @ZOS_PaulSage only said they are not removing Veteran Ranks when Veteran Points are exchanged for XP (Phase 2). He still hasn't said what happens to Veteran Ranks at Phase 3, when the Champion System is introduced, aside from that Champion Points will be gained by XP.
    He did make a mention to "everybody level 50 and above", and also mentioned [paraphrased:] "introducing new Season gear that is not restricted by level", which both to me suggest that Veteran Ranks (above 50) and Veteran Gear will still exist.

    I just wish someone @ZOS would come and give clarification. Even if they come and say that they haven't answered the question yet because they haven't completely decided whether to do away with VRs completely.

    @ZOS_JessicaFolsom‌, @ZOS_GinaBruno‌, please, try and find out for us whether Champion Points are an outright replacement or a parallel system to Veteran Ranks.

    @ZOS_JessicaFolsom‌, @ZOS_GinaBruno‌ we're still waiting on that clarification :P
    Once the Champion System has been fully rolled out, it will replace Veteran Ranks. Don't worry, we'll go into much more detail as we get closer to releasing this new system. It's still being developed, though, so there are still some unknowns.

    Well that's concrete. completely contrary to what they spouted at quake con though. but in all seriousness. no one should be playing the game around something that will be in game early 2015. And i would not hold @ZOS_GinaBruno‌ accountable its not the first time they have relayed info to her then changed it. though i do agree with the removal of Vr . though i have two V12's it was a cheap way to extend the life of a game that had no end game
