EU server lag still there

I play on both EU and NA servers, but since the EU moved, I've had crippling lag and general choppiness in gameplay. I use exactly the same graphics settings on both EU and NA, same add-ons, same everything - on the NA server it's significantly smoother, while on EU it's like wading through treacle. I've been killed because of lagging out.

My higher level characters are on EU in a guild I'm very fond of, but right now I feel more like abandoning it and going over full-time to NA where I get way smoother, nicer gameplay. This needs sorting and sooner rather than later.

Or, please move it back. It was absolutely solid for me before the move. Now it's not worth playing on.
RIP Atherton, my beautiful little gentle friend. I will miss you forever. Without you I am a hollow shell.

LOL. Please move it back, are you serious? I went from 180-400 ms lag on the NA - EU server, to 15-30 ms lag on the true EU server. Don't even suggest such things. Game is smooth as butter for me now.

@AlienSlof‌ Quick question. Do you play from within EU or outside?

Internet latency was never the problem, as this OP and many others have found out the lag was always a server issue so all those EU players expecting the move to fix it were sadly mistaken as they're now finding out.

    It's a nightmare currently, 10-15 second lagspike/pauses every 5 minutes or so.

As i am writing this i just suffered a 20 second spike followed by the game actually crashing.

Within EU - England. Should have mentioned that. :)

It is not network lag, nor does it seem to be server lag - most obvious cause seems to be periodic packet loss, hopefully ZOS are shouting at their provider to fix this.

    This ^^^

In between the big 20-30 second freezes the game is much more responsive and gameplay far smoother than it ever was when the EU server was in the US.

Yeah, I was fine before, never really getting any lag, now it's terrible. My character gets stuck in charge or can't enter conversation or doors all the time. This has happened since the move.

I'm not saying it should be moved back, but there is clearly a problem.

If their service provider has packet loss issues on congestion, the problem may take quite some time to fix. It is not a pure software problem, and ZOS can't fix it themselves.

Actually internet latency WAS a big part of the problem. There is a massive difference between 180-400 ms lag, and 15-30ms lag. Everyone knew it wouldn't fix everything, but at least now we have low latency with lag spikes instead of terrible latency with lag spikes. As for me now, I have 15 ms lag, with a lag spike here and there, versus tons of lag spikes / freezes and 180 - 400 ms lag.

I approve 1-2 sec lag but 10 20 or infinite lag freeze must be fixed.!

Before the EU Migration I had a constant 600-850ms latency and now I have a stable 70ms latency which is remarkable.
The purpose of two mega servers, one Europe and the other is North America is to allow players from many parts of the world to have a descent game play without having lag spikes or high latency.
It's unreasonable to suggest moving the EU mega server back to NA.
NA American players have their own server, NA, I believe it's more than enough...
The EU mega server connectivity has been greatly improved.
    I see no problem here.

Exact same issue here. Never had lag spikes before EU server migration. Now constant packet loss syndrome.

The last time I experienced this issue was over 10 years ago with Meridian59 and Everquest. It was confirmed a packet loss issue at some router.
