Can no longer see my character's eyes through the helmet. The space is just filled with black.

They couldn't get the helms to line up with all eyes on all faces... So they're just blacked out now. Looks better IMHO.
What I lack in gameplaying ability I make up for in smack talk.

Lol so how did they do it at launch?

Does it have a red glow that moves left to right?

Here is a normal Redguard helm.

I have the same issue on my Heavy Armor wearing Nord NB. It makes him look a little more intimidating perhaps, but I kind of liked to see his eyes (which lined up fine before).
Semi retired from the trading aspects of the game.

I noticed my imperial wearing a nord style 17th helmet has the "black eyes" as well, especially on the character select screen. I saw when I was ingame with bright candles shining below my character I could sort of see his eyes again, but with how it looks almost like painted on black most of the time, I do hope they change it back.

I sent in a ticket to the help support, and they said it could be a problem on my side, but I doubt so as the eyes could be seen before the 1.3 update, and I am not the only one facing this problem. I directed them to this thread, hopefully they will realise that it is something on their end, not ours.

Ok cool thanks for the heads up. Id maybe believe it was something on my side if some posted a pic of them wearing the helm with there eyes showing.

There were several types of helms that were causing characters' eyes to become misaligned. For those helms, which included the high-level Redguard Heavy helms, we intentionally filled in the eye slots to alleviate the issue.

Is there any plan to fix this and get the eyes showing again. It seems to happen on a lot of heavy armors and makes me hate to look at my own face when I am wearing a helmet. The armor just looks poorly done with a big black thing there.

High level heavy armour Nordic helms also have eyes misaligned. All you see is black where the eyes should be. @ZOS_TristanK‌

I would rather have misaligned eyes instead of this crap.

@ZOS_TristanK Is this a temporary fix? Because recently, I've seen this occur with NPCs as well and honestly it looks terrible.

I'm going to necro this thread for the sake of the new sub-free addition of ESO.

The blacked out eyes look absolutely awful. There's nothing redeeming about how it looks, particularly on low-level Nordic helms. It's the most unappealing thing I've seen in this game, ascetic wise. It needs removed. Misaligned eyes are many times more favorable than this incredibly lazy "solution". It's ugly. Very, very, very, VERY ugly. And completely immersion breaking.

In fact, it's so off-putting, I was torn on whether or not to sub again for the few added benefits. And this has stopped me from paying any further. Not merely because it's aesthetically gross, but also because it's indicative of how you may handle any other issues that need addressing. You'll go the quick route, damn any players who may be dissatisfied.

Although I likely won't let this issue influence my subscription decision like RonnieJay, I too am severely disappointed that blacking out character helms are considered a "solution". put honeycomb or mesh grating over them, or completely redesign them. You guys can do better, you know you can.

I guess my complaint that my orcs horns poke through her hooded cowl like helmets isn't so bad now that I look at this thread, if they are just putting black to cover the eye slots lol I won't even bother trying to get my issue fixed.

Just blacking out the eye holes, that's gotta be the laziest thing I have seen in gaming lol. Just makes me laugh.
Rollin' round Tamriel on that skooma wasted like a failed Grand Theft Auto mission.

First post ever and I'm kinda ashamed its about this topic but, what a horrible change! Since the Thieves Guild dlc I can no longer see my characters eyes through the Khajiit light armor helmet. The eye's were not misaligned on the helm before. Its like they went overboard with the easy route.

Also I'm only posting in this old thread because I couldn't find mention of it anywhere else which kinda surprised me because it looks horrible. One of the great things about this game is the armor customization but it looks like I just lost an option.

The only thing more depressing than the actual change is that more people aren't complaining.
