If the achievement is new (one of the 40+ added ones), then you need to do what is requested even if you did it before already.
If its one of the old achievements however then the Dye should automatically become unlocked if you log in.

this is not the case, they used the example of emperor. You don't have to reget emperor for it.
I really want birch white and am going to be peeved if I have to go on a harvesting spree to get it.
