The blackest black is from finishing the main quest... research. Vampires too as others have stated. You literally have to squint your eyes to even see a difference between them and the pvp one - and even then the pvp one is lighter.
Should be some effort in the game to get cool things because as it is 70% of the playerbase is going to be black/red 20% hot/candy pink for the luls and 10% will be unique.

I think it will. Those quests seem to be the same ones as the ones in Cadwell's Almanac.Dagoth_Rac wrote: »I am DC player doing AD content for VR1-5. I am starting out and still in Auridon, though. Will doing the AD quests in VR give me the achievements for "Thalmor Black"? Or do I have to be a member of AD to get their achievements?

Ugh the hassle of needing to play the game in order to unlock something.

I understand some folks not wanting to do 1 or 2 of those, but if you are out because of all of those, go play something else. You obviously don't want to play the game.

This is what I fear. That players will want to stand out, in a bad way. Hot pink/Lime green anyone?
making the black be a pvp rank is fine, but legate? no one is even close to legate right now. at least make black a LITTLE more obtainable. move it to centurion or major or something along those lines.
I'll be dying my armor as close to the color of keep walls as possible. Havent figured out the exact color yet.
Camo> Black.
No, even if you earn 177k APs per day (something that takes most players at least a week to earn), it will still take a year to get to grand overloard (which is the highest rank, i believe).smeeprocketnub19_ESO wrote: »making the black be a pvp rank is fine, but legate? no one is even close to legate right now. at least make black a LITTLE more obtainable. move it to centurion or major or something along those lines.
I had assumed there were already grand overlords considering how religiously some people play.
Only veteran personally.

I am against it simply for the reason that it forces people like myself who hate PVP to suffer it just to have the selection of colors they want for their gear.
This almost feels like ZOS was worried the people that DO like it are getting upset more aren't doing it, so they chose to put the most desired color behind a playstyle wall in a "play how you want" game.
I don't really think strong-arm carrot sticking is the best way to get more people to try out PVP. But whatever. I guess I'll just be using one of the "close enough" colors.

Making the most desired color require you to grind a playstyle you hate?
Really?

This is a mixed PVP and PVE game. They do not seperate PVP and PVE in this game. If you want everything and the best character possible you will have to do both. It the same on the other side, Some PVPers gate PVE but they have to do it aswell.
When you bought this game you knew it was built around Cyrodiil with a PVP endgame. no one has an advantage over you and i don't see why you wouldn't want to help your alliance.

I'm going to take a wild guess here:-
You do a lot of fishing, and have most of the fishing achievements.

No, I have about 5, but I am working on them for OCD reasons.
I'm not going to wear black... Everyone is going to be in black/red or pink (or whatever they think will annoy the most people) for the most part.
