ZOS Is Working Hard

I'm probably not going to resub until they offer something fun for VR leveling, redoing the same quests I did on my alts is incredibly boring.

There are no issues in this game that can't be fixed in a reasonable amount of time.

Not sure Id call half a year a reasonable amount of time to fix something like 1 playstyle dominating all classes...

Only in PvE- In PvP it is quite balanced and that make the balancing so hard. I'm just a killing maschine with DW/Bow in PvP, if they would just push my DMG for 50% to compare with Magicka in PvE, I would be a god in Cyrodiil.

They know there is an issue in PvE but they have to solve it slowly.
1.3 is another Step to this point and 1.4 will bring more, I'm sure of it.

lol at this. You must be seeing a different cyrodiil than everyone else.

Staying subbed, though, happy with progress made, great CS experiences (as long as I put in for a callback.)

Even at max level with most things done, I have found enjoyment in alts, I am playing the other three classes a zone at a time, then switching, until all of them have progressed through their respective zone. Re-experiencing all factions like this and learning new classes.

Just doing achievements has been fun.

Despite the flaws, pvp is enjoyable as all hell for me.

The very moment they put something you want behind an activity you despise....think about this post.
I am not spending a single penny on the game until changes are made to the game that I want to see.
    1) Remove having to be in a guild to sell items to other players at a kiosk.
    2) Cosmetic modding for armor and clothing.
    3) Difficulty slider.
    4) Fully customizable player housing that isn't tied to anything in the game other than having the correct resources and enough gold to build. Don't tie it to PvP, guild membership, or anything at all. Oh, make it instanced so as not to take up world map space, too. Zeni screwed this one up already.
Any /one/ of these things implemented would get me spending again, maybe even subbing.

ZOS may be working hard but they have a *** load of work to do in order to make this game worth the sub price. The road ahead looks promising but at the rate of current development(you know two steps forward one step back, then sideways, then a backflip) the game may be up to scratch by some time next year? Maybe.

You expected this kind of post from me? What's that supposed to mean? A personal attack?

Your argument essentially boiled down to:
    • I don't want to be a member of a guild so I don't like guild stores.
    • I don't like dyes being obtainable by achievements because to collect em all I have to do things I don't want to (PVP for example).
    • I don't like looting crates and barrels in the wilderness so I don't like the justice system.
    • etc etc.

You did close pretty positively which was nice :)

Also on the justice system, you've got the options of not getting caught, or paying your fine if you do. From the demo these items were priced at 1g each and the fine came to 5g, so we're not talking huge amounts of cash here.

There are activities coming to the game I'm not too keen on - spellcrafting for one, as I'm primarily Stamina based and it's yet more love for the magicka builds - given that most of the skills in game are already magicka based the last thing I think we needed was MORE magicka skills.

But not everything in this game is for me is it? Just because you don't want to engage it doesn't make it a con. Also all of the above is optional - you don't need to complete all of the achievements, there are many, many different colours of dyes available elsewhere.

Agreed, just like OP, i resubbed precisely due to the amount of the post-launch work done thus far.

    - I am aware that a large amount of it is due to the (comparative) ease of post-production, as well as the obvious planning in advance that most companies do prior to even launching an MMO title. So no, they did not start a dye system from scratch, only to have it complete a month later. I think ^^
    - I am also aware that despite the speed with which they resolved bugs/issues, they also happened to know of them way, way before launch, and launched with them anyway.

That however puts them pretty much in the same spot with most other companies doesn't it?

    1) Difference being that in ESO's case, the team delivers quickly and efficiently
    2) They could have milked the *** out of this franchise. They have not. I really, really, so very really respect that
    3) I decided that my issues with the consoletards oriented UI aside, or the solo endorsed playstyle, or, or, or, this game deserves its chance. As a sub-based game. No casinos. And for a measly 13(?) euro a month, i better do my part too

So a "well done" from me as well, keep at it :)

    • They are adding spell-crafting freeing us somewhat from class restrictions which is as it should be in an Elder Scrolls game. They are consumable scrolls.
    • Assassin guild/skill-line is coming (Hopefully both Morag Tong & DB)This will be cool but will cause more balance problems in pvp.
    • Thieves guild/skill-line is comingSame as above reply
    • Provisioning is being revamped and improvedFinally.
    • Imperial City... (does this need explanation?)There will be serious problems with this.... like... once your faction captures the city you be under attack by both the other factions and will soon lose it. Also... the number dispersion is horrid. EP>AD>DC for populations. Poor DC...

There is A LOT to look forward to.... there is also a lot of work to be done and they have admitted some misteps and are working on it... I resigned myself to the fact that this was a paid-beta early on and I think at about the 6-9 month point it's going to be a great game. I have a lot of fun as is, but I need the other sandbox elements for the game to hold my attention long term.

They have been thus far anything but delivering quickly with known game issues and introducing more as they go. Can you not recall that Cyrodiil was unplayable for almost four weeks due to the framerate issue? A lot of us are currently experiencing the "data load error" and have been for weeks. There are countless issues the game has had since launch that have yet to be resolved.

I'll tell you so you don't have to waste time thinking it over.

They all force you into the activity described in order to get something you might want and THAT is what I don't like about them. Zeni isn't making whatever activity they're tied to ENTICING...they're just dangling a carrot over a big electrified floor.

My comment was not passive aggressive, trust me. I've been moderated several times because I'm not afraid to say what I believe and I don't mince words. No, it was merely me saying I didn't expect you to understand, and to make an incorrect assumption about what I was trying to say. I /still/ don't expect you to understand, even after being this plain about it all.

Suffice to say I'd much rather pay Zeni $1.99 per dye and call it a day. ON TOP OF a subscription.

surprisingly you do actually have to play at least some of the game to earn things in it.

If all the features of the game are like an unpleasant and continuous jolt of electricity to you, you probably shouldn't play. No carrot is worth that unpleasantness.

As for the carrot itself, all games are just carrots on sticks if you think about it.

Threads like these are trollbait to begin with though. Sucks but it's the nature of the beast. Naysayers hate the idea of other people being happy with content or the developers when they themselves aren't. They can't help but drag everyone else down with them.

I had no plans to unsub and QuakeCon reaffirmed my commitment to ESO.

There is plenty of really great, game-expanding stuff in the pipeline. Not just vertical, end-game but horizontal. New guilds with their own skill lines, spellcrafting. They're expanding the game outward, making it broader and deeper... turning ESO into something more Elder Scrolls, not just piling more end-game content on top of a narrow foundation. The bugs are being quashed quickly, the balance is being ... well, addressed, if not fixed in as timely as manner as we'd like...

Keep up the good work, ZOS!
Brunhilda Icehammer - Nord Dragonknight, 'Smith & Enchantress 'What is 'ranged? I need to hit something!!'
Laehl Direthorn - Bosmer Nightblade, Purveyor of fine Clothes, Bows and Staves
Reeza gra-Zuni - Orc Templar 'War Shaman' and Apothecary
Noemi Snowpaw - Kajiit Dragon Knight - I laugh... or I'd have to kill you.
Kitera Dreamon - Breton of The Dominion: Because those Daggers don't appreciate a great Mage.
Lysara Shadowcroft - Dunmer Bloodmage: This will only hurt a lot.
