Server Transfers

On launch I installed the game and began to play unaware that I was playing on the NA server. As I played solo for so much of my leveling it was not until my character was Vet 3 that I realised I was on the wrong server. Since then I have had to start again on the EU server and it is where all my current characters are.

But unfortunetly I still have the one character on the NA server.

Are there any plans on having server transfers available? Or could you transfer the only character I have on the NA server to the EU one? I was told many moths ago that you could not do that, but I don't understand why many MMOs are able to do server transfers so easily yet ZOS cannot. If you can move a whole server from NA to Frankfurt i'm sure you can move one character from NA server to EU server.

ZOS have said nothing about this being 'planned', but yesterday in a reply to someone posting in a thread about the EU server move a 'green' poster said that character transfers aren't available "at this time".

Now, I don't want to over-parse that and come up with some over-blown theory as is usually done in web forums and say categorically they WILL do it, but I expect that probably indicates ZOS do indeed see this being offered, but when, who knows?

I would be very suprised if that option didn't come at some time. It's a nice cash grab for little effort.

I agree, the amount of money Blizzard got out of me from server transfers is a number I would not proudly share. I like that Rift offered them for free though.

We don't currently have any plans to offer character transfers from one megaserver to the other, but if that changes and becomes a service we offer, we'll let everyone know.

first of all its not a cash grab so quit using that phrase when its not appropriate. And its not little effort. Depending on the way they have thier database system setup you could have data in many different databases and you need to deveope a script that will extract the data from one set of db's to the other set, consistantly without errors and without breaking anything else.

They will have it eventually, the ability to transfer to console megaservers has been promised. In addition PTS really doesnt work all that well without it. and yes, they can make money off the service so its likely it will be there someday. Nothing wrong with that. Though if it was me I'd offer 1 per maybe 6mo or so free. But that's just me.
