Why am I restricted from buying something on a global market? The fact that I can only buy and sell to the guilds I joined is ludicrous and needs to be changed.

I really enjoy this game but it's just so DUMB to restrict the market in this way. The fact that harvesting provisioning mats is random chance is stupid beyond belief.

Sure because a system with a unified, easy, handed to you in a silver plater tradehouse where people with a lot of cash can just buy all the health potions(just to give an example) that are less expensive that theirs in order to reintroduce them to the market with their price (which is higher). Is such a better option for the consumers that have a job and don't have time to be vultures on the market.

The trading system will be completed in 1.3 with the merchants around the world and will make trading guilds competitive while avoiding monopoles.

It's an awesome idea, much better than an auction house anyways.

When it comes to blacksmithing, woodworking, clothing, et, al...there really isn't a huge issue. Enchanting I could complain about, but it's not SO bad.

Provisioning is HORRIBAD. It's really the reason behind my post. There are so many different items to find, there isn't a particular place where they can be found, and the sheer amount of mats is inventory busting.

On this I can totally agree, the provisioning bit, is a Global AH the way to solve that particular problem probably not.....

I use grocers for some ingredients and that keeps storage space free, well slightly freer.

Also be less of a hoarder trash the lower level stuff you're not gonna use again, it's easy to restock if you start a new character..........

    Note to self:-

    Take own advice ;)

    When people say to me........
"You're going to regret that in the morning"
I sleep until midday cos I'm a problem solver!

As a new player it is a pain in the rear end. I joined my first trading guild after I asked the simple question, "Is there an auction house? I can't find the icon for it on the map." I got flamed in chat. Not only did I get flamed, someone said, "Why didn't you join a trading guild?" The lack of information given by the game on simple things like this is astounding. How the heck are new players supposed to know there isnt an AH? Why are players who defend the system acting like jerks when new players ask about it?

So guess what? I joined a trade guild and there was barely anything on there for anyone lower than level 30. It's not convenient at all. *They should at least have a tab for trading guilds so you can access the guild bank/stores from anywhere in the game*.

I'd like to point out that both the internet and ebay do not exist in the elder scrolls timeline, and that to have auction houses linked together in such a fashion would therefore make no sense.

Instant delivery, however, does. We do have portals.

Global economies lead to widespread poverty and wage slavery. That's why big business loves foisting the "global village" idea on everyone.

Sectioned-off economies serve both buyers and sellers best.

I hit level 10 today and got mail and read it out in the middle of nowhere. What is so weird about having guild store/storage at our fingertips? Lore answers as being the reason are tired. I could rattle off a bunch of different things in the game that break the lore. I want convenience, not arbitrary time sinks. My game time is precious and the towns are set up very poorly as it pertains to player convenience. Some are designed very ergonomically, but most aren't.

I'll tell you why! This system allows the real players to craft, sell and trade with out competing against professional sellers who will end up dominating trade. Think of a world where small to medium size business can thrive with out having to compete with global Cooperation's.

    Global Auction
    Pros:
    - everything in one place
    - literally every item you can think of is there
    - low prices (except VERY rare items)
    Cons:
    - few no-lifers own whole thing and everything in it (if there is not enough buyers to empty the thing)
    - materials are more valuable than crafted products

    Guild Stores
    Pros:
    - can post items for whatever price
    Cons:
    - noone to actually buy the few overpriced items that are posted
    - all are almost empty
    - even being a member of 4 "trade" guilds won't guarantee you find an item you need

Well... they are both bad, but I still think Guild Stores are worse. The only pros they have actually turn into cons because there are no people left that would actively play.

Not strictly "on-topic", but fairly relevant I think. Many valid arguments about having a global AH vs not having, as is the current situation in ESO.

Neither system is perfect. The question might be what would be the most "convenient" option for the average player, who rather joined ESO as a true MMORPG, rather than micromanage everything to exhaustion, Civ or Master of Orion style, or the like (by the way absolutely nothing wrong with those games, I love them and have spent months and months "micromanaging", but we ain't talking about that here).

Personally, I find it ludicrous and totally pathetic to even hear about some bozzo who wants to hit the jackpot for his fooking "purple recipe" by asking 1 million gold (just an example). That person would never get that price in an AH, I guarantee that, in ESO some desperate chap would cough up.

As for bots, gold sellers and all that, we already had them in ESO, heavy duty, since day one, AH or not. The war against them is on many levels and the presence of an AH would hardly be the main reason for their existence (or, possibly, even the opposite). Making people frustrated with transactions, and the artificial difficulty in obtaining "desired" items, on the other hand, is a good reason that can lead people to be susceptible to exploitation and the services of said "merchants". Proven fact.

An open market tends to "self-regulate" in the end. Maybe the "smart chaps" who want to sell their "precious" for ridiculous amounts are never happy, and good thing, they should not. Genuinely rare items will always be rare and command high prices. High but fair, not extortionist prices. Market, not a black market.

Because you would then buy stuff from AH to sell to vendors for profit :)

That isn't a problem of the AH system or the megaserver or even the current system. It is a problem of someone being a "fool" for listing items at prices lower even than the "base price" a vendor offers.

Actually my theory is that ESO has a database that is barely sufficient - thats why there were duplications errors early on, bank/inventory slots disappearing issues early, guild bank in infinite loading mode randomly. Even simple needed changes like staking all runes to 100 are being done very cautiously. It certainly could not handle a global auction house. Just a theory ...

    "Megaserver"
people keep using that word.. but.. I don't think this whole "megaserver" has even as many people as a single realm in WoW or TERA. I was playing wow on Draenor realm that has about 200k active people and about 60k people online in peak hours.

not at all my cup of tea.
I want a decent AH like in any other decent mmo. I absolutely dislike this multiple trading guild System. one of the reasons I quit.

Heaven forbid peoples instant gratification is delayed!

Now they have to *gasp* socialize....to get stuff..or even *faints* play the game to acquire stuff!

The more I think about it the more I like the system they have...I really dislike global AH in any game that has it...its like "I hope someone else botted all the stuff ill need up until endgame so I can buy it all with the money I make doing one quest chain!"...then "oh good those endgame items are available...time to google ESO gold to be able to afford it!"
