Yes, it's like time travel or "alternate history". That's why there are anchors, and you have no soul again, etc.CapuchinSeven wrote: »I'd have been happier to go there if the story made some actual sense and didn't feel like someone thought up the idea 2 days before launch.
I was like, so er wait so er wut, have I time traveled, why are the anchors still here, wait so now I'm HELPING the enemy and killing the people I was just sided with!?

They are updating the veteran system and changing it into a champion system incrementally.
Before you create useless and senseless topics you should be up to date with future plans of the devs.
Sorry to say, but if you hate questing that much this unfortunately is the wrong game for you. Questing will always be present in TES titles and a major factor.
Fun fact: completing quests never contributed to levelling up in previous TES games or locked us out of a third of gameworld.Sorry to say, but if you hate questing that much this unfortunately is the wrong game for you. Questing will always be present in TES titles and a major factor.

Plenty of other ways to do it. This is a 'play it your way' game, not a questing game.

Partial locks. Not five major zones, dozens of quests and dungeons locks. That's like denying us access to Falkreath and the Reach until we do all quests in every other major city. Dawnguard was the only expansion which had similar quest locks in place, but at least there was a better reason for it.SuraklinPrime wrote: »Fun fact: completing quests never contributed to levelling up in previous TES games or locked us out of a third of gameworldSorry to say, but if you hate questing that much this unfortunately is the wrong game for you. Try getting dragon shouts in Skyrim without doing the Greybeard quests, try owning or building a house without making a Jarl happy, trying becoming a vamp or werewolf without at least starting some questlines.
Same partial locks on content applied in Oblivion, Morrowind & Daggerfall.
You could roam more freely but you could not get at all content.
And I like the quest bar for VR areas, it keeps the bots out.

Who knows when that will be though, probably not before next year anyways, while the player base dwindles.

Read the whole post before replying. You are forced to do the quests if you want skyshards from the next set of zones.

There are no skyshards for which you need to do quests. There are skill points in the main story quests, that's all.

Didn't they move on to Wildstar months ago?

Before you try to be smart, (obviously difficult), you should understand the future plans of the game.
Champion system does not replace veteran... Its in addition to. They're getting rid of VP and making veteran levels require experience so that the post ro leveling isn't "a change from pre-veteran content."
Thank you for your smart 'snip' useless comment.

I'm not trying to be smart here. I know what the Champion System is.
But one of the main reasons they are implementing it is, that they want to improve the questing experience - for people like you that do not enjoy it.
And it actually replaces the Veteran System as we know it now.

If you weren't trying to be rude, my sincere apologies. According to Paul Sage's interview, champion system is in addition to veteran levels. They want the leveling of veteran ranks to feel the same as pre VR, so they're getting rid of veteran points and having experience level your veteran ranks.
Champion levels are being added to give us character advancement, which the veteran ranks lack.
To everyone saying this is a questing game and they love questing, great, I'm happy for you. Quest away!
A large group of players view this as an AvA game and don't want to listen npcs talk.

1. Characters that were present in the main story line were given different appearances and names.
2. Any reference to not having a soul were switched to something along the lines of great power/strength of will/magical knowledge/etc.
3. References to Dark Anchors/The Planemeld were changed to "Molag-Bal's-waning-influence-in-the-wake-of-his-defeat-at-your-hands-and-what's-left-of-the-Worm-Cult-is-trying-to-hold-it-together".
Whaddya' think?
