Obscenely long Public Dungeon Champion spawn timers.

@MasterSpatula‌ I'm pretty sure that they have fixed that, I did some of the dungeons where that used to be an issue and I was able to do it with a group no worries.

I've spent the last 2 hours in Razak's Wheel, have completed the group challenge and picked up 4 of the 6 bosses needed for the Conqueror title. Yet no matter how much I run back and forth between the spawn points for the other 2, I've yet to lay my eyes on them. This is ridiculous. I want to play the game, not wait for some stupid timer.

Same here for various dungeons. Last night we tried well over an hour for 2 of the bosses in the Lion's Den. I got tired and went to bed. I logged in this morning in the safe spot by one of the bosses and he still was not there.

While I do not really expect much from TESO at this point any more, playing for what ever fun I can with the guildies...... Damn if it isn't frustrating!

It works a lot better when multiple people/ groups are doing it. Me and another guy split coldharbor zone last night, then switched places.. that one is easy to split.

If you can group up with 2/3 people you can move really fast usually making it less painful.

I'm missing 2 in the wheel too. I've taken to fighting past the first spawn to the far spawn once or 2x a day to see if I can get lucky.

I just never really go for these bosses. its not worth the ridiculous wait for an achievement that really is not worth getting(unless one of these will have the black dye, in which case ill wait)

You guys are doing it wrong.

CHECK THIS POST IF YOU HAVE PROBLEMS WITH LONG SPAWN TIMERS

This is what I said in other thread with public dungeon achievements (http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/discussion/87891/public-dungeons-missing-achievements-missing-skill-points)
There is limit that in dungeons only X bosses can be alive. That said, you need to clear dungeons and kill bosses until you spawn boss that you want. You can't just wait for boss, because if noone kill other bosses - it will never spawn.

You can't just wait for boss... I kill all bosses in dungeons in ONLY 15 MINUTES. This game isn't that stupid like other games: there is X timer and you need to wait for boss. This game is a bit smarter if you watch it from other perspective.

    So... happy hunting!

Can confirm it is correct 100%.

After reading it last night, went to Bloodmayne Cave in Cyrodiil to test it. It has 3 bosses near each other so was easy. Killing any boss will trigger 10 minutes cooldown, after which another boss spawn, in random order.

So, after 5 Acanthia kills, and 3 Razorbacks, I finally spawned Ironleash, and got achievement completed.

Tested again in Serpent Hallow, with 2 bosses close to each other, same thing. Kill one, spawn either same boss, or other one. Also 10 minutes cooldown.

So basically yea, afk camping boss spawn is not best idea. Either get mates and camp all spawns, or run between them and pray to RNG gods to spawn one you need.
Still, 80 minutes in Bloodmayne Cave was better then last 4 weeks I was trying to get achievement for it ;)
PVE cooldowns can be different as Cyrodiil delves are rather small, so 10 minutes makes sense. Only way to test it is to camp all spawn points with few people to see how long it takes to spawn next boss.

    Hope that will help.

Edit: tested it in Village of the Lost(Coldharbour group dungeon), only to confirm that it is correct again. Killing bosses which are alive in instance will trigger cooldown, and spawn other boss for sure.

Killing Mirok spawned Iluzan, while doing nothing with Mirok alive for over 40 minutes changed nothing (had 2 people in both spawn locations)
Killing Gruthaz spawned Macius Cento, while there were players at his spawn waiting for him for over 1.5 hour. We went to kill some bosses, killed only Gruthaz, 15 minutes later Macius was there, happy to die and give us achievement.

So we just run up that long hole in the ground of Vile Manse, to bump off a couple of the bosses up there to try and spawn either Xevat-Golgok or Ancient Primalist?
Or what just keep running circles from beginning to end and hope when they do spawn you can beat the other groups and/or ppl camping at those locations.
Only allowing 2 bosses up at once is S.T.U.P.I.D. in dungeons with no return points.
One day each of you will come face to face with the horror of your own existence.
One day you will cry out for help.

I can confirm the spawn numbers as well. I completed my explorer title (completing every delve in the game) and you just need to cycle around and continue to kill bosses as they spawn. It's not always just 2 bosses. The delve determines that number. There are some caves in Cyrodil where only 1 boss will be up at a time since there are only 2, and there are caves where 3 bosses can be up since there are

I believe there is a public dungeon that has like 7 bosses and pretty sure 4 bosses can be up at a time. There are "rare" bosses as not every boss has the same chance to spawn (some will spawn more than others) but just keep plugging away and you will complete it. Do not just sit there and wait since it just doesnt work that way in this game.

Just finished all the pubs... seems closer to 2-3 up... doing zonewide talking to others camping, never saw 4 anywhere... don't think I even saw 3 to be honest.

It isn't hard with a small group, or if there are a lot of people around (US primetime). I've been playing daytime and middle of the night US (AUS time) recently due to insomnia and it can be hard (timewise) if there is only you or 1 other person around.

Vile manse is kind of a pain... X whatever who hangs out near the skyshard is up a lot because of the shard probably. Primalist was tough. I got him when there were 3 groups running upstairs.

The far construct in Rezak's Wheel also seems pretty rare.

Vile Manse is a pain to navigate because of the whole no return point thing. A trick: group up, travel to group member. You'll port back to the beginning of the dungeon.

Partly blame the grind/bot population for this.., quick spawn.. quick bunch of additional XP by killing a boss additionally to mobs and chance for better drops.

Would be nice if they would instance those places so you have to get your group outside then just go inside... and no additional mob respawns or something..

Just a few thoughts... before been waiting for long for boss X to spawn here and there for the skill point and archievement that is.

as long as they have a CD on loot then there shouldn't be an issue. They still couldn't write one route and redo the same dungeon/boss over and over again.

I might get 2-3 on the first run through (as well as the group challenge) and another couple shortly afterwards, but there is almost always one that doesn't want to spawn until you've stood in the same spot for an eternity.

Has anybody else been frustrated by this? I'm just wondering what the thinking behind it is. No normal dungeon boss has this long of a spawn timer, even when you have already completed it and you get the insta-spawn.

I just can't figure out why it doesn't follow the same system, especially when many dungeons require you to last hit to get credit.

I would really love a developer rationale on this one. Are you trying to get us to rack up game time standing around or something?

Yes this is still an issue.... Had to camp a spawn for 40 minutes before he spawned... and "it" was dead when arrive at the sean so maybe it's well over an hour spawn timer on some... If there are not something else that spawns them

This has nothing to do with it. Because 4 out of the 6 bosses in Obsidian Scar for an example respawn after 10 min... but 2 of the bosses have hours on there re-spawn timer. Beside this champions rarely drop any loot at all... get more "purple" drops from random mobs.

You guys need to read what other have wrote instead of just commenting.

You need to continually run around and kill all of the champs in the zone(group challenge not required) to get the champs you need to spawn.

Only a certain number of the champs can be up at one time. Their spawn is entirely random and they are all on the same respawn timers.

TL;dr too bad it's four sentences, go read them.

Yes. But honestly I think it's entirely random. It's a 1/7 or however many champs in the zone chance of the one you're waiting for to spawn. Your best bet is to take a group in and just keep roaming and killing champs until you get yours to spawn. Get others in the zone in on the fun and it'll be a lot less of a "chore" to do it ;)

There seems to be at least one boss with ridiculously long timers in each dungeon if not two.

She just spawned.. Got stuck in the geo and despawned on me .. awesome.
This happens to me all the G.D. time! Quest bosses, random dudes... doesn't matter. It's so aggravating. I have all these knockbacks and can't use them unless I'm out in the open. We know how often that happens when it comes to bosses.

Other players waiting there occasionally, other players rocking through, killing Bloodmaw (the durzog mini) fairly regular, 2-3 times while I'm waiting for Lughar. Mostly I'm drinking coffee and online shopping.

Condolences. I really don't understand why they set it up like this. especially in the underpopulated latter veteran and cyrodiil dungeons. if there were always people rolling through in a highly populated area, sure, why not. But there is really no reason not to have it on a rotation when there is this level of underpopulation

I am having the same issues as every one else. It is always 1 miniboss in EVERY public/group dungeon that doesn't want to spawn, no matter how many times you kill the other spawns or the group challenge.

I put in a bug complaint and apparently it is intended and the *** of a customer service basically told me to keep on killing the other bosses until it makes an appearance. Problem is... two hours later that same mini boss you need still doesn't make an appearance.

These bosses need no higher than a 25minute respawn rate. I am not willing to waste my game time standing in one spot or staying in one dungeon for a whole day or two to just get that one boss to get the achievement. It isn't right.

Yeah, I would probably agree in saying that there is levels of rarity... but still, idk why and there is nothing for it but to keep rotating through the dungeon.

Why there even IS such a long respawn timer? I mean, sure, it was good at launch, but now we can't loot boss for about 10-15 minutes after looting previous one, so it doesn't matter.. we just want to clear your damned public dungeon in a sane time window, without waiting for an hour on each boss. PROVIDED WE KNOW WHERE THEY EVEN SPAWN..

The few guild mates who had the same issue, we got a raid together which forces theses instance to spawn a second instance, this allows us to get bosses faster and we were clearing two version of the zone until the boss required spawned in one and then allowed the members who needed it to jump instance.

Doing this in PVP dugn instances was a lot of fun as another raid from another faction was doing the same thing. 20 vs 20 ended up spawning us over 4 instances so you had no idea now many of your raid was with you and now many were in another instance.

I used this to finish off 10 dungeons worth of champions yesterday:
    http://tamrieljournal.com/public-dungeon-group-challenge-conqueror-guide/

A maximum of 50% of a dungeon's champions are spawned at any given point in time (if there's 7, then 4 are spawned at a time). Every time you kill a champion, a random one respawns *exactly* 10 minutes later. Sometimes you have to re-kill other champions repeatedly to get the one you want to respawn. No trash mobs are required. I was soloing and stealthing away from all mobs and focusing only on the champions.
