Dwemer Ghosts and their memories

This just hit me...I remember that in Morrowind there was a Dwemer Ghost.
Why are there no other Dwemer ghosts? There are tons of Ayleid ghosts, but no Dwemer ghosts? Do ghosts decay or were even the spirit of the Dwemer absorbed by the Numidium? And if that is the case...Why did a single ghost escape that fate?

Also, due to the unique way the Dwemer disappeared...Were their memories stored in the water of Tamriel?

Seems entirely likely that with their race pretty much a memory most of them likely passed on to their ancestral plane to stop being alone for centuries at a time until somebody found their ruins. Plus I take it that dwemer weren't exactly that social to begin with.

Though its always possible their just possessing their machines or the machines managed to shove them in soul gems.

yea there were dwemer ghosts in Morrowind. Enough of them. I have no idea what the story behind that is though.

Ayleid's are bossy jerk elves and feel they have to hang around for ever and boss people around in the future.
Hell, their king hung around in Cold harbor for a thousand years just so he could keep the Fighter's guild from electing a new leader... for example.. Me!

Dwemer are way more classy than to hang around ooga-boogaing about their lost loves or entrapping each other in cystals or whatever.

The one Dwemer Ghost in Morrowind was on another plane when the Dwemer disappeared, otherwise his ghost would have disappeared with the dwemer.

So he is the only Dwemer Ghost.

That was not a ghost that was an actual dwemer who had contracted corprus.

There were multiple dwemer ghosts in various ruins. They were translucent, had beards, and wore robes.

indeed my favorite was Radac Stungnthumz he helped me enchant a boss sword of flame, and he had some really cool insite into the dwemer and there disappearance, he told me he knew what happened, and where they were now, but he refused to tell me lol, such a teaser... he also hated the tribunal and the deadra lol

Perhaps most of the dwemer ghosts are on Vvardenfell or deeper beneath morrowind since we really don't get to delve very deep in any current dwemer ruins or hit any burial tombs?

    I dunno!

tbf you get far deeper down in Skyrim, The dwemer ruins in Morrowind were not that deep. (I haven't messed with Tribunal yet, stop trying to give it away for me!)

I suspect they kind of decided they didn't really want that to be a thing, but they couldn't really retro-edit it from Morrowind.

I'd bet good money they wish they could remove the surviving dwemer from the game too, though I thought having one exist, in one game only, that couldn't tell you anything about the disappearance, was pretty cool.

The Dwemer were CHIM'ed out of Nirn by the Numidium when they turned it on, so the only Dwemer ghost in Morrowind was in either Oblivion or, even, Aetherius when this happened. Same goes to the last Dwemer alive in Vvanderfell, afterwards he contracted a disease similar to vampirism that lets him live forever albeit deforming their body and decreasing their overall quality of life.
Do you mind? I'm busy doing the fishstick, it's a very delicate state of mind.

there was more than one dwemer ghost, as I said. There were many. The likelihood that they were all off plane, the corprus dwemer never ran into them, and then they died I assume inside dwemer ruins in a manner that left them lingering on as a spirit seems unlikely.

Well the Dwemer were known for going back and forth between Oblivion, they even got to trick some Daedra and, if this theory is right, the big orb of light in Blackreach (skyrim) might be a portal to Aetherius, so it does light in the same way Magnus (the sun) does.

So the possibility that all these Dwemer ghosts were in other realms when they disappeared is still possible. -- but now comes this plothole, if they were all outside Nirn why didn't they reproduce when they came back? :D

it's very very unlikely. It would be a massive coincidence.

The ghosts were just poorly thought out, is all.

Not really poorly thought out as most of them seem likely they died early enough to not know what happened, plus as I said being a largely antisocial race they don't have a lot of reasons to say around.

Also there are enough reasons to have undead else where in the game than to waste space for dwemer constructs on largely generic angry spirits.

Ah CHIM, I have a theory about that...

let me preference this as my views on vivecs teaching, the godhead and Chim in the elder scrolls i see it much like how i see the ending of Marathon infinity(heres the link if you are interested… http://www.gamerswithjobs.com/node/34563)

Chim is the state of understanding that you are just a figment of imagination, and the ability to keep your individuality once knowing this. now lets dissect this in a logical processes:

it is stated in vivecs teachings that he has seen the godhead, the sleeper in his isolation, in his sensory deprivation, it says that all things, Anu, paomay, sithus, the aedra and deadra are all just his dream
appon reaching this conclusion the person vivec, tiber septim and lokhan all keep there individuality, this allows them to reshape the land and world as they see fit.
it is said that at one point the dream will no longer need the sleeper
now, lets make some comparisons, (just stay with me) the developers are the godhead, we are also the godhead(as shown by the true meaning of god by vivecs understanding is “I”) menaing the world is created and dreamed by not only the devs but also us…it also means that we who play the game are in the world, thus we are vivec, tiber septim and Lokhan, we can change our appearance to suit ourselves(vivec) make the world as we see fit(Lokhan) and reshape the land in a breath of royalty(tiber septim) and the final point is when they said that at some point the dream will no longer need the dreamer, this i think is the ultimate goal, they wish to create something with us so magical that it no longer is needed to be developed, as we take it into history, much like dnd 100 years down the road will still be around, or like wow (like it or not) has become an ingrained part of our society they want to help us take the elder scrolls into such a legendary place that even if they made no more games the game would continue breathing and living without them.

Actually that is where they trapped Vulthuryol and used his magic and prowess to power there machines, If you fus'ro'dah at it he is releaced out of the orb

I'm personally waiting on an expansion which may explore of the Dwemer, they are one of the more interesting races for sure.
