Enchantment bug? Or is there something I don't know there

Hi guys,

Before I submit an official ticket, I preferred to check with you guys if I'm doing something wrong or if there was some mechanics I'm not aware of.

I have 7 pieces of medium armor that's I've tried enchanting. I enchanted my first piece of armor with a greater glyph of stamina, yielding me an extra 99 stamina. I move on to the second piece and use the same glyph. This time, I only get 26 extra stamina. I check my character stats and my stamina is in orange. So ok, I reached soft cap for stamina, no point wasting any more glyph in stamina so I decide to enchant the other pieces with health glyph. So I pick a third piece of armor and enchant it with a greater glyph of health, supposed to yield 99 health points, but after enchanting, I only get 40 health points. This is were I think there is a bug because I'm nowhere near soft cap on my health.

So is this a bug or is there something I missed in the enchantment mechanics?

Thanks for your answers

Head, Chest, Legs, and Shield are the only items you will get the amount it displays. All other armor will be reduced, you can see it by hovering over the item in the enchant window the "before" and "after" icons.

Well thank you my friend. That explains it.

Do you know if it's intended? It doesn't really make sense and I wished there was more explanations ingame about it

    Intended this way.
The other pieces of armor are considered 'lesser armor', and as such get lesser benefit from the glyph applied.

    Dat ain't right :(
If it cost you the same amount of gold / mats you should get the same amount of enhancement.

If I buy 3 enhancements from a vendor --- all the same --- for say 75 gold each I should get the same amount of benefit from each one.

    If I wanted a Signature I would have a Signature --- but i don't want one so I don't have one.

Would be nice for alot of stuff that there would be tool tip or hovering over explanations of things instead of having to figure it out the hard way though, and that goes with alot of things where also inaccurate explanations occur.

I think we all agree on that, but fortunately we can rely on the community to guide us. And this is my first MMO so a lot of things are confusing at first ^^

Thanks for clearing this up as I wasted two glyphs trying to upgrade the health on them. Explains why my bug report went unanswered; they probably think that I'm an idiot (ID10T error is what we call in the IT field).

The problem with this game is that there is nothing consistent in how the different modules were designed; there is always an exception to the rule.

I would think that if the full value of a glyph couldn't be used, then the program would warn you about this before wasting it.

Also why does enchanting take so long to level, if you can only put the full value on only certain armor? It seems to me to crippled for no good reason.

yeah, they said they are looking at the time it takes to level enchanting probably in the next update (1.4).

I figured it out by seeing the "up to" part in the Enchantment description.. I was miffed as well first few enchants I did.

Levelling enchants doesn't make sense. If you put efforts into the others, you can always craft items for your own level or higher( I put alchemy and provisioning apart since those 2 go WAY too fast).
But for enchants, I deconstructed all the glyphs I found since I started and I'm now V4. I cannot craft enchants for my own level since I'm only lv22 on the craft.
so, we either level up our char too fast, or we level our crafts too fast, or it's enchants that's too slow.

I'm not a seasoned MMO player but I wished crafts took longer to level. It doesn't feel special or valuable it you can max out all craft except enchants in just a couple of months.
