In terms of building a PC I have no experience but friends who can do so... I'm simply not sure how to go about getting parts and whatnot. I was told unless you can manage the computer and are tech savvy you're best bet is to simply buy a pre-made system with a warranty.. decisions decisions.

Everyone and their brother is going to have a different idea on what you should get.

If you have a friend that knows what they are doing, as opposed to just thinking they know what they are doing, sit down with them and spell out everything you want the computer to do and what your willing to pay.

There are a lot of fan boys on here (and everywhere else) that believe Intel, or AMD, or Nvidia, or brand x is the best part for any piece in the system.

They are all wrong and all a little bit right.

Do your own research. HardOCP.com is a good site to see reviews and should you join the forums there are a whole lot of helpful people there, still some fan boys to deal with but they tend to be more honest about it there.

Intel or AMD Cpu will drive your system just fine and get you where you want to go. AMD or Nvidia Gpu will also do the same. I like Asus boards and lots of Ram/storage.

You can see what I am partial to at the bottom of my post. Most people do not want or need to have quite so many parts and pieces it does however sute me.

Buy what you want, asking for and taking advise is always a good idea, in the end, make your own decisions no matter how insistent some people get about certain brands.

I could spend $50,000.00 building a single system, it would still be aging in 3 years, old in five and people would complain about it not being perfect (to their ideal).

As it stands I was going to sink about $1600 Australian into it (just the PC, not the monitor etc etc). I know that' not enough for a super fancy gaming beast, but I just want to play ESO on it and I'm a student, so money is always fun.
