Just awful. Plain and simple.

When I started this game I was incredibly excited. I knew that it would be a little buggy when it first went live and I was totally prepared to suck it up. But now......Here we are its almost August and the state of this game is so thoroughly dissapointing I can't justify a sub anymore. My game constantly crashes to my desktop every hour no matter what the settings are set to. I realize that its a known issue and they are "working" on it but how long are we suppose to put up with this? Here's a thought, how about instead of focusing on dyes and guild crests you fix this god awful performance. This is by far the worst performing game I have ever played. Its like its being operated by a gaggle of silverback chimps. Not to mention the insanely unbalanced classes. I play a templar, so naturally I get passed up by ALL raid and group content unless I'm a healer and the solo pve content is lets face it. BORING. So that limits me to either pvp or roll another class. I decided pvp. Crash, crash, lag, crash, log back in, dead. crash, rolled back to main camp, crash, lag, crash and crash. Customer service won't even reply to my tickets anymore. So my only other option is to roll another character. Not happening. There's to many game choices out there.

I don't think the frequent crashes are the game's fault. I use a fairly modest rig and I've had almost no crashes in the last couple of months. The crashes I have had are when my graphics driver resets when I'm streaming netflix on the other monitor.

At least I am thoroughly enjoying myself after almost 4 months and still not max level since I take my time.

Crashes are random for me, sometimes I crash a lot, other times not at all, like today, I was on constantly for 6 hours without any crash, other times I do crash even after 10 minutes, but I think that is due to alt tabbing and steam overlay (nonsteam version). Also, I increased my pagefile, maybe it fixed it.

Most people I know don't crash at all so I don't think it's inherently the game's fault, more like some sort of incompabilty/bad luck.

It is purely the ages fault. I run a Mac and have above recommended specs. I also don't run anything else in my background. I've checked my computer over and over. IT"S NOT MY COMPUTER OR CONNECTION. sorry for caps but that statement cannot be stressed enough.

I've been playing since early release and I've had only two crashes. The pve content is a lot of fun...it is not at all boring to me.

Minimum specs check alone won't ensure smooth performance. Maybe check to see if your driver's are updated. You could also run a support ticket. They'll have you run a program that's part of the launcher called Game Consultant that makes something similar to a dxdiag file that you can send them and they can tell you if there's anything that you can do to improve performance.

I had crash problems for a moment.. Until I noticed my graphics card needed updated. Pretty much resolved until the memory leak issue hit for a while. Other then that.. all is well.

Sounds to me as if you do not enjoy the game anyways, so I would say.. maybe move on to a new game?

Not if you want to edit some pics or videos...or meet some cool new kneckbeards at the internet coffee shop. But yea if your goal is gaming...you wasted your money.

As for the op...no problems here. Nobody I play with has these issues. The line of people in I have to stand behind while waiting to join pvp seem to be doing fine. Maybe it's not anyone's issue but yours?

sounds like it's on your end, i can litterally play for 14hours straight and rarely get a 2second lag spike, these crashes are non existant on my part, hell my latancy handles fine in heavy clashes of flame trains in cyrodiil (lets face it, those are the only large clashes) tho my fps likes to cry at around 15-20

I've had some technical difficulties myself (data load error) but I still like the game so I deal with it. ZoS cares about your technical problems but everything else you've said is personal and posting about it makes no sense. Our opinions won't change your mind and those who don't give their opinion do not care. At all. So leave this game and go do something you enjoy. That's a better way of spending your time than posting about personal problems you have with this game.

many people are commenting having not read the part in the post that explains you are running a mac.

can you blame then, really? there's almost no attempt at paragraphs in the original post; just a stream-of-thought rant about everything you believe to be wrong with the game.

I hope support do contact you and help you out (as indicated above ^), but we aware they can only work to fix the client crash problems. they cannot address your opinion or perception that the game is boring.

I love my templar, granted he is a healer, but if you look at the PTS the dps game is about to change, hold out a bit for the champion system, also my computer is just barely above recommended (Lol, lets it put it like this, i run the lowest settings possible, which sucks, and don't have any crashing issues) I just spent about $800 on a new system that i just got today and cant wait to get it installed and together because tbh i dont know a thing about putting computers together, however my templar can dps, 400-600 ish and that using a resto staff lol because i mostly play a healer and rarely dps. the storyline/questing isn't boring but then again thats just my opinion. But all in all i would recommend you giving the game a little more of a chance, there isnt a single game out there that launches with minimal problems, it takes time and what the game has been active for 3 months now? You haven't even given it time. Although i understand where you are coming from, i did unsub for 2 weeks for 2 reasons, i was broke and trying to see my 6 year old daughter, and the lack of information on where these guys want to take the game. But after quakecon i am extremely excited and proud to say I will sub to ESO for a very long time. Give it some time, if you need a home you can come over to great architect and we can discuss any issues that you have, we also have a couple of computer geniuses that have solved issues for me as well. I still think you should give it a shot but understand that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and so are opinions. Good luck

I don't get crashes while playing ESO. Sometimes when things are going bad though I really wish it would. I have had unexplainable bugs that made me log out to character select and come back in and be dead, or freezes, or sudden FPS issues that make me die but never, and I mean NEVER has the game crashed, or booted me out, or anything like that. I must stress though a lot of the time getting into the game itself, is a chore. @ ZOS, waiting for 5-10 minutes for the game to load after I put my password in is NOT what I call worthy of a sub. Neither is the game as it is at the moment I would say, but the former thing, is something you need to work on. Getting to the character select screen after login should not take more than even 2 minutes. In fact, you want it to be about a minute at most ideally.

[not that I do not pay a sub for this, as I do, which is why I bought that point up

I use a high end mac to play on and suffer from rather frequent crashes, which worsen if there is a surplus of people on a map, it makes PvP and future hypothetical trials hellish.

That aside I disagree with your entire post, but eh.

Nah, Macs are really good at what they do, it's just that this aint it.

yeah every time we bring in a pug that is having all sorts of issues getting voice chat started or crashing its always mac. Not just this game but others too.

They should have a warning when you buy a mac "not for use in gaming" for everything else, however, mac really does take the cake.

I have similar technical issues, I get game crashes on a fairly frequent basis. I'm pretty sure it's not my rig, I'm an IT professional who has torn apart machines at the physical level and MS data structures at the logical level. This is also the only game I have these issues with, so my guess is something is less than optimal with the game client. Could also be an issue with some of the DX classes, MS has been known to leave memory leaks \ problems in their software for years (I've run into these using IADS and WMI classes, nothing gaming related).

When my game crashes, sometimes I get the "data load failure" but sometimes my screen just freezes and doesn't update while I can hear myself jumping or switching weapons in the background. At that point I have to reboot, if I just alt + f4 and restart the client I get nothing but a black screen and the back ground music. Thankfully my PC reboots very quickly. To be honest, I have not done much diagnosis on my machine to troubleshoot the issue, but again, this is the only game I have an issue with.

I feel the same way about the game that you do. I was a beta tester and had a lot of fun in beta, but the changes that have been made to combat cheating \ bots \ Imbalance or to attempt to improve the game experience seem to have made the game less enjoyable. I'm hopeful that the game will improve, but at the same time it's been a while since I've seen significant positive improvement in the game. The last significant updates seem to have traded one set of problems for another.

For me the game has NEVER crashed. I had the infinite loading screen a few months back but haven't seen it since.

Also I LOVE the PvE content. It is not boring. Quests are fun, dialog is good. I didn't like AD so maybe you are there. But DC and EP have good stories.

Reading your post seems you already made your decision. Take a break from TESO and come back later to check out new content in the near future. Maybe you find it fun again then.
