I suspect you could buy the pig from someone who didn't want it after QuakeCon.smeeprocketnub19_ESO wrote: »So ZOS is making the dog available sometime soon, but what about the pig? :?.
If you want extra weapon crit rating playing a Khajit absolutely gives you an advantage over races without extra crit rating and that advantage is .. wait for it .. drumroll .. you get more crit rating.
This is pretty damn basic if the EP gives you the option to choose from 9 races and not having it gives you the oportunity to choose from 3 that is by defenition an advantage.
If you can't see how the racials give you an advantage you simply don't undestand how the game works.
Say I'm going to play a DW Medium armor NB focused on crit and sneak who would have the advantage here a
Khajit with
■Medium Armor Expertise (1 rank) - Increases experience gain with the Medium Armor skill line by 15%.
■Robust (3 ranks) - Increases Health regeneration while in combat by (5/10/15)%.
■Stealthy (3 ranks) – Improve Stealth radius by (1/2/3) meters. Increases damage done while stealthed by (3/6/9)%.
■Carnage (3 ranks) – Increases Critical rating for melee attacks by (2/4/6)%
Or a Nord with
■Two-Handed Weapon Expertise (1 rank) - Increases experience gain with the Two-Handed Weapon skill line by 15%.
■Robust (3 ranks) - Increases Health regeneration while in combat by (5/10/15)%.
■Resist Frost (3 ranks) – Increases Cold resistance by (10/20/30). Increases maximum Health by (1/2/3)%.
■Rugged (3 ranks) - Increases Armor rating by (2/4/6).
Wait no they are exaclty the same right? No advantage at all.

Spoiler: at a certain time in PVE campaign, you will play all the factions' areas and stories. Choose the race you want, it doesn't really matter.

It wasn't supposed to give you an advantage. None of the bonus content gives you an advantage. It gives you access to vanity perks. That's it.
Tell me about it. That sucks! Guess I should've read first THEN payed...

You have something other people don't have. You can now rest easy in knowing that you've received a reward for all that work you put in. Take a victory lap. You've earned it.

No because explorer's pack and imperial edition are two separate things, and explorer is for those who preordered.
And nobody who already has an account ever has a chance of obtaining that superior pet. Oh and the Steam imperial edition comes with BOTH pets. You get mudcrab and dog.
Why didn't they just use the original imperial edition? There wouldn't be this outcry.
If they add things to the imperial edition for anyone who buys it in the future (which is what they did) they should retroactively give what was added to all current imperial edition owners. To not do so is to invite the ire of their existing players.
If you already have an account (at least an imperial account) you are locked out of the Steam edition and can never get that dog pet. That doesn't bother you? Because it bothers the crap out of me.
It really isn't the same situation. Three months after launch, you can still easily buy Explorer's Pack keys on the internet.nerevarine1138 wrote: »Holycannoli wrote: »nerevarine1138 wrote: »There. Happy?

But if you don't already have an account you are locked out of the Explorer's Pack unless you're willing to find someone selling their remaining keys to apply to your account.
It doesn't bother me. At all. There are far worse things in the world.

I don't care at all.
I don't use steam particularly much these days, I don't want a pet, the two I already have are gathering dust in my Argonians back-pack.
I really don't care, but every other thread is about this stupid subject, why don't the mods merge them all togother, and let the clutter die.WyndStryke wrote: »eventide03b14a_ESO wrote: »... I still don't get it. Why do you want to play it on Steam? I don't think it is integrated in any way (no achievements etc from what I've heard).
Just because you don't care doesn't mean that some people don't. If you don't care why are you bothering to even reply in these forums other than to troll?

Yeah, horses are character bound.Aren't horses character bound, not account bound??

There may be copies floating around, but ZO isn't making it officially available for purchase. So again, they gave you something they didn't give to Steam users. That should take care of the hurt feelings people appear to have over not being pet on the head and told, "You're a very special snowflake," while Matt Firor feeds them chicken soup.
You seriously think that's what it's about? That someone else is getting something we are not? Wow. You managed to skim past pages of posts on multiple threads and still come up clueless as to what the actual gripe is. Congratulations. Let me break it down for you. We want to play on Steam. As it is now we cannot. We cannot even transfer our existing accounts to Steam. Does that clear it up for you? I really can't make it any more simple for you.
Why?
I mean, I'm honestly curious. As I stated on another thread, I've only seen people complain about Steam integration prior to this. Most people I know don't want a centralized system that can control their access to any game.
The bigger issue is they get full access and a nicer perk for a lot less money and didn't pay an extra $30 subscription fee....they basically get craglorn, numerous bug fixes, fuller world access and a highly wanted pet...All for about 70% less then what preorder have paid to date.
It's like buying something for $130 but while you are paying at register you see someone else getting the exact same thing for $40.

I'm mystified by people blowing up the forums over a dog.
I love me some vanity pets; don't get me wrong. The more, the merrier. But this has to be the most inconsequential debate I could ever imagine having. It's a dog. It's going to pant and bark, and everyone will forget that this happened in a week.

For most its much more than the dog. It's not a deal breaker or anything like that but not giving early adopters and avid supporters of the game an option to transfer their version of the game over to Steam for some of the perks(trading cards) is kind of giving the bird to those of us that would have preferred a Steam release from the beginning.

I was asking a simple question, not trolling, and I never said I didn't care.
So let me paraphrase and ask again - What is the feature of Steam which you are looking for (and would ESO offer that in any case)? Is it just the dog, or is it something else which the Steam platform offers?
...
1) Access to Steam ESO Forums
2) Chat/Overlay and Guides in Steam while playing
3) Seeing when my friends on Steam are playing ESO, and being able to join them quickly (and vice versa for them.)
4) If ESO offers it, the auto-updating of ESO while I am not home through Steam
5) Trading Cards ...

Not directed at me, but I will answer why I want my current account linked through Steam:
1) Access to Steam ESO Forums
2) Chat/Overlay and Guides in Steam while playing
3) Seeing when my friends on Steam are playing ESO, and being able to join them quickly (and vice versa for them.)
4) If ESO offers it, the auto-updating of ESO while I am not home through Steam
5) Trading Cards
What I don't understand from all of the "Why could you possibly want it on Steam" people is, how would SOME of us that want to be able to link our accounts effect ANY of you who don't want to link it?
