Cannot Obtain Items From Dead NPC/Monsters

All day yesterday I, as well as others posting in game chat had issues gathering items from NPC's or monsters we had killed. As you can see by the attached picture I should be able to get something from this dead bat. When I hit "E" nothing happens. No side menu opens to grab any items that are on the bat but there is obviously something I should be getting from it. I did two public dungeons and this quest yesterday without picking up items and left a trail of glowing dead things.

I moved all around the dead hitting E in case the activation line was off and still nothing. This character is in the AD level 12. Hopefully after the reboot today it will be working again.

I did the obvious reboot, repair dance with no change.

I've had this happen from time to time. Though I've always been able to loot it after killing/looting another enemy, at which time either I loot both because of their close proximity to each other, or I can go back and physically loot it after looting the next kill.

Yeah I tried that. I even went through one dungeon twice following my trail of glowing dead.

Didn't even get the loot from the bosses I killed.

Hopefully it was just a glitch and will be better today after the reboot. If not guess it's time to do the ticket dance to figure out why the dead do not want to give up their loot!

This happens a lot to me, I either have to do the corpse dance around it until I find the right spot, stand on top of the corpse and look straight down, or attack something else and kill it close to the other so the area loot will get it.

I encountered that yesterday for the first time. Maybe something was lagging server-side and/or the targetable area on the mob was too small?

Yeah I happened to me sometimes from time to time, but there were situations in which I could after some time pick up, and some which I could not.

I have run into it sometimes. Not this massive tough, more like one baddie not giving up it's loot. it's a recent thing tough, didn;t have that before.

Happens when I'm stuck in combat... which is odd because I can loot while actually in combat.

I've had this happen to me a LOT over the last several months. Generally, kiting another mob and killing it near the unlootable one tends to be a temporary fix. The thing that I've noticed most commonly is that, when I can't loot, the server thinks I'm still in combat. I kill, rush in to loot, can't loot, then see my scrolling combat text telling me I'm "out of combat". If I wait a few seconds after a kill for the scrolling text to tell me that I'm out of combat then I can loot. Usually. Very rarely, I have to just walk away from that purple item that I just know is on that mob that won't let me loot it.

This in/out of combat latency doesn't seem to have any correlation to any other type of lag at all. FPS have no impact, casting times have no impact, inventory, mail, character windows have no impact... In other words, I can be having a zero lag day and still have this in/out of combat lag issue that prevents looting, or hampers it. Or, I can be in the middle of a full on lag fest and be able to loot just fine.

This has also happened to me a lot recently, as well as some of the above suggestions(notably kill another baddie nearby), I have found this to be one of the few situations that /reloadui still works in......... a quick fix always worth a try
