At one extreme, we had a music system that was capable of adapting to gameplay on a measure-by-measure basis, but it proved almost prohibitively difficult to work with, and didn't yield very satisfying results.
The music is truly composed—not dynamically generated—but structured in such a way that it can take left or right turns at key moments as the state of gameplay changes. The various pieces are tied to particular biome types, locations, and moods.

There's a story about it in the news section. http://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en-us/news/post/2014/02/26/creating-eso-musicAt one extreme, we had a music system that was capable of adapting to gameplay on a measure-by-measure basis, but it proved almost prohibitively difficult to work with, and didn't yield very satisfying results. The music is truly composed—not dynamically generated—but structured in such a way that it can take left or right turns at key moments as the state of gameplay changes. I agree with the others, I was very disappointed when I found that music wasn't on the CD.No, at least nothing in that article says it is.Maotti_Nor wrote: »I really miss this in my soundtrack though! So this one is autogenerated huh?
That article is talking about the soundtrack meaning the music in the game, not the soundtrack CD (those are separate meanings), so their mentioning auto-generated music isn't included has nothing to do with the soundtrack CD not having music that in-game is auto-generated.
