Reading many people comments...seems that almost everything of what they showed in quakecon wont be released until next year or more...Im really "scared" thinking about it. Thats a LOT of time. Why are they teasing with things coming that late??

I'm thinking that everything they talked about will be released over the span of a year's time. Some things we will see coming sooner rather than later. We know that the next update is improvements to the player guild system and the new dye system.

We know that the Veteran system overhaul is going to be implemented in three stages. Stage one was already implemented.

We know the next major update after 3 is going to be the final phase of Craglorn.

I think Paul Sage said in an interview that the Imperial City would be coming in before the Dark Brotherhood/ Thieves Guild. We know that the Justice System is planned to be launched around the same time as the Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild.

So, yeah, it may be some time next year before we see most of the things they talked about implemented. I would be surprised if we see the new facial animations before spring of next year.

Thats a lot of time. Seems they are showing things just to keep you subbed...but well i will play other games in the meantime...of course I have a lot to do with the game right now,but dont think fall this year...will see. I see the video from orsinium and wwwwoooow. I want it now.

Quakecon is only once a year. Obviously they will show their long term plans and development to the viewer. You can always unsub for a month or two and resub as soon as the content comes you want, entirely your choice.

I do think they will implement the Dark Brotherhood and Thief's Guild before christmas, that will increase sales because people that don't have the game are more likely to buy it over/before christmas so new game changing content will help to boos sales (similar to the expansions that WoW brings out reasonably before christmas).

They also release content every 4-6 weeks. Next content will be dyes, then most likely more craglorn and city of ash. That is 3 updates worth meaning that there is a slot free before christmas. I am fairly certain that a massive update (most likely Justice system, because it is already fairly well developed considering the video) will be out by the end of this year.

I'd like them to take their time and do it right.

When Lineage 2 launched with the Prelude chapter, NCSoft outlined the plans for the next 12 chapters which covered 3-4 years of additional content.

I think this sort of forward planning is reassuring (sorry, but "scared", lol) and I appreciate the company sharing their future plans with us.

They must push the solo PVE zone hard that's a given. Right now they only released raid or dungeon content, so that Casuals need to get something too. The demands for solo PVE at max level is big and as longer they wait as bigger it will get, as more and more Casuals reach VR 10 and are then stuck.

I see it coming in Sep or Oct.

yeah I agree with the rest here, all that goes around waiting for this to happen better unsub for a while. It gonna take long time to get all what they showed into the game. if its the only thing you care for about this game anyway.

It is an MMO. Casuals can also group and quest in Craglorn. It is not that hard...

Or run some VR dungeons with "casuals" - if you finish all 6 once you should be halfway to vr11.

Who says that its hard? Its about time.

If you raid in a guild you need at least 2-3 free evenings a week, that's not doable with a job, friends and family.

This never was about hard, its all about accessibility.

Besides that, not every person likes to run the same dungeon all the time. Some people have a few higher demands to an MMO ;)

I find it sad that you try to deny Casuals content, while you were fed with content since release with every content patch. How about some tolerance towards other gamers? Without the Casuals you would be pretty alone at ESO, do you know that?

I feel more likely is the coming stuff will be released over the span of a year [give or take] maybe with the exception of the facial recognition stuff [cause that stuffs dope] but hopefully we should see the large bulk of it by April; next year. ZOS have committed themselves to releasing new content once every 6 weeks or so which should mean there will be plenty of stuff to sink your teeth into while waiting for the game changing elements to come into play.

Why wouldn't they add a lot of these things before tye year is over? They're adding content every 4-6 weeks. It's still only July, which means we're getting updates in August, September, October, November and December. I'm not a bit worried that these things will be here pretty soon.

My guesstimate for the next few updates

    August - Guild Extravaganza

September (late) - "Upper Craglorn" New 12-Person Trial, 4-Person "Arena" (PvE) and more Craglorn overworld

November - Imperial City (PVP super dungeon) and City of Ash vet dungeon

Christmas/New Year - Consoles, DB, TG complete with justice system.

Having said that, spell crafting looked really far along. Not sure when that drops but I say this year. No new zones until 2015.

I have to say looking at their timetable and content plans, I probably won't keep my subscription when it expires here in a few weeks. I will have pretty much consumed all of the solo PvE content.

Grouping and PvP aren't really options for me and they look like that is where they are focusing for the foreseeable future.

Lol....If teso was a car...and all the bugs were recalls...no one would want to buy it. But for some reason gamers support spending money for mistakes and overlooks and just plain dumb moves. I am not saying the game is bad...but face it...If numbers are correct they are making 11 million a month...that is on top of the 50 million from selling the game...and all with the hope the game will get better. I can never understand why gamers are so supportive of unfinished products...teso has been in a 4 month beta. It has taken them 7 years to produce what we have today...and since they clearly avoided time frames...These improvements, that are big, could take years to implement.

Just out of pure, morbid curiosity, why isn't grouping even an option for you? This is an MMO, after all. You had to anticipate playing with others at some point.

Well, without getting into too much detail. My life revolves around monitoring and caring for a person with a traumatic brain injury. This puts me in a situation of having a LOT of time for gaming, but not a minute of 'free time'.

I can be called upon at any instance to assist them going to the bathroom, or changing the channel, or preventing a seizure. So at any given moment I might have to walk away from the game, even if that means in the middle of a battle. I might be away from the game for 10-15 minutes or more at a stretch.

This doesn't typically work well in groups. I have a couple friends who understand my situation and we do group together frequently. However, they also understand and accept that requirements of my priorities. I certainly am not going to explain this all in detail every time a group needs to be formed.

Most of my games I play with a pause button. Certain MMOs like ESO, and SWTOR do offer up enough solo only content that I can also enjoy without burdening fellow players with my circumstances.

I remember hearing one of them mention "1.5" for one of the updates.

    1.3 gets here soon.

I presume the content previewed is due over the course of this year; a lot of what they showed was rather far along/fairly complete.

I like that they are offering up a range of content that is going well out into the future. It shows the devs confidence in the game and it's ability to stick around. It also just means that we have that much more to look forward over the course of the next year or so. (And of course, 2015 is only a few months away - we are well over half way through 2014.)

Dragon Star Arena should be in update 4.

Paul Sage said he expects phase 2 of the vet changes to be in around update 4, so update 4 or 5 hopefully, update 3 is approx 2 weeks away so update 4 is only about 8 weeks away.

    Paul also said

"we've got new sets coming out, we're going to more aggressively populate some of the bosses to where there's a lot of reason to go out and kill different bosses for different set pieces and loot, I think the itemisation plan that the team has been working on is pretty solid, especially coming out around update 4"

The lowered respec cost comes out in update 3.

The weapon caching so that we get instant swapping comes out in update 3.

Sorry but 99% of groups out there wouldn't be very accommodating for random 15 min afks without explanation. Especially in high end content where people are rushing through everything.

It's going to be released over the next 6 months.

If you look at the intervals between their major content updates so far they've been (almost always) monthly give or take a few days, with minor patches and balance tweaks inbetween.

It's safe to say we'll be seeing the majority if not all of the things show in QuakeCon before 2015.

Maaaaybe some of the more intensive stuff like the character speech reworking as well as the things that are barely prototyped will take longer, but I'm 99% sure Imperial City is coming in update 4 or 5 and so is City of Ash. The new armors will probably be sprinkled in along with that.

    EDIT

Given update 3 is coming out in early August, we can assume that Update 7 will come out in December.

Just to give you all a little perspective - Zenimax have said that they plan to release regular content patches monthly if possible but would push them back to make sure they're up to par (in the case of Update 3)

What he just described is also the situation for anyone with young children. That is a whole lot of gamers. You can be called away at any given second, or end up playing uninterrupted for ages, you just never know. It makes committing to a group very hard, unless you just don't give a monkeys about the other players and just afk without saying, no one wants that though.

If updates come every other month, then there's only time for three more updates before "next year" comes anyway - and that includes the one with armour dyes that's coming in a week or two.

Remember, King WoW will be without a scrap of new content for an entire year by the time their expansion is released. At least we'll be getting things at a more or less regular pace. What order they come in, only the programmers know.
