    For "everyone" assuming you have the money to buy it. If you don't, then you don't fall into the "everyone" group.

    True true, unless it ends up being an in-game method of obtaining rather than a cash shop item. Personally I'm hoping (for pets in general) that there will be some of each.

    So Steam users now can have 2 different dog pets.

    I dont mind paying extra but everything should be available in the main account.

    The fact is , we paying subscribers should not have new content locked to us , end of story. We will NEVER be able to get that dog , dont matter even if we wanted to buy it on the store , nope not getting it.

    Now it is dog , tomorrow might not be , tomorrow might be something you want , but then you are not getting it also.

    They should not add such items for new players only , this shows players like us that being loyal means nothing and that if we dont want to play for a month or more , might as well unsub , cause supporting this game is just being stupid , zen does not care about us eitherway.

    I wasn't responding to the OP, I was responding to the post I quoted complaining about not getting the exact same dog as the steam buyers, and the fact that said buyers could go as far as getting TWO dogs.

    ZOS is giving you the option to get a dog now. Most everyone is willing to pay for it, except a few of you that feel everything that is available for the game ever should just be handed to you.

    Everyone should have an option to obtain all available content for a game. The fact that this argument is considered crazy shows me just how willing we are to sacrifice our gaming for marketing profit.

    Yeah, I'm kind of just glad we're getting a dog at all. People complaining about the color are within their right to do so, but it's a bit ungrateful considering they didn't really have to give us anything.

    Because it's of my opinion that games were done better back in the days before aggressive marketing and all these damn pre order exclusives. FFXIV, to which I'm also subscribed, does it perfectly.

    We are not even discussing about things that are not longer available (officially) like preorder and beta stuff.

    Right now the people who supported this game from the start with their money are being excluded from this offer.

    I got a pet mudcrab, a pet scuttler and a pet monkey (3 of each actually).
    They get a pet dog. No big deal ...

    back in the day, less was expected from game companies. They had crap customer service, and you'd like it because there were very few options. EQ customer service was atrocious. Account accidentally got deleted? oh well. Corpse irretrievable? Feature. Massive downtime? You didn't think we were going to comp you game time did you?

    Back in the day companies didn't have to earn loyalty, they just got it because they were all that was out there.

    I prefer now in that sense to back in the day. Though there are plenty of things I prefer from way back.
