Does it seriously matter? I mean I Beta tested, pre-ordered, and got the Imperial edition. So I got meh Monkey, meh mud crab, and meh scuttler. None of them hardly ever even leave my bank.... Why is everyone so upset?

ZOS didn't take anything from you, they didn't give the Steam purchasers anything super special. They don't even get the option for the Explorer pack I believe. Either way being they do or don't. Who really cares? It's just a digital dog... I don't think it will be game breaking to not get it.

I am pretty sure you can still PvE/PvP/adventure/craft/kill stuff/ride a horse/be the hero/make friends/be in a guild. Nothing is different because of the dogs.. Just chill lol

Good day sir.. I SAID GOOD DAY!

Let me start off by saying this was a good move by ZOS overall to add the game to Steam and at such a reduced cost for the first few days it's on the store. It means more players which of course is better for all of us. For most of us it's not about the dog though. It's not being able convert our versions of the game over to Steam for things like trading cards and Steam guides, etc. It's not deal breaking and not a massive deal but a large portion of us wanted the game to release on Steam from the beginning and now that it is we get the shaft in this department for supporting the game 4 months too soon.

What's new about that? In my experience, this very same argument comes up with many titles that eventually make it on to Steam. That's a Steam issue.

If you're a diehard supporter of Steam, then you should already know that very rarely will you get several games at release. You have a choice, wait for Steam to work out a deal, or jump in early. Steam has never brought an online game into the fold and been able to provide retroactive benefits.

It may not matter to you , to many others it does.

The fact is , we , the current players , are being locked outside content meant only for new players.

This time it is a dog , next time might not be.

It is call that shows being a loyal customer is not what they want , they just want to please new players and make them enter the game.

What content are you being locked out of? It's a friggin vanity item. By the very definition of the term, anybody getting riled up over it are doing nothing more than acting in a Vain manner.

Honestly , i dont care how relevant it seems to you at all.

It IS content of this game that we are being locked out of.

Maybe it will take them giving dragons to wake up to the fact , but hey , some people dont wake up till they get hit really hard on the head.

    2nd Era = no dragons
You guys sound like a bunch of tin foil hat politico's. Today a free dog!! Tomorrow it'll be a whole DLC with a new map & missions. Come on. ZOS is trying to attract new players with a small incentive. ...no big deal.

Yeah ... clearly the idea of figure of speech got right past you.

Anyway , like i said , some will only wake up when they get hit , lets wait then for the punch to the face , that should work.

Wonder if i will even be around to see , that would atleast be funny heh, but then again , the way things are going , not worth paying zen to see.

    Lol, ok.

I remember when it was expected that in a subscription based game you got all developed content.

That is why most of us wanted it to be subscription. Why is this game subscription if things are being developed for stores and promotions instead of fun ways to keep people subbed and interested in the game.

Some vanity items for sale and promotion is fine, but all but ONE is now outside of the reach of paying customers. (the dwemer spider) I bet the new brown one will be in the store too. WoW has plenty that go up on the store, sure, but for every 1 on the store there are 50 or so in game.

I think you missed the point entirely.

Most games you see come to Steam that do it so soon after launch actually do give their early adopters Steam keys. Sure you get games that had adopted the GFWL platform or had their own DRM come years later that don't(the ones that don't usually don't have any real Steam integration either such as trading cards.). That's a completely different situation though.

We're only 4 months out from launch not 2+ years. This is also an MMO which means we're not just going to stop playing it after a few weeks or months(well most of us) like we would for Bioshock, Mass Effect, Bulletstorm, Dark Souls, etc. Even terrible games with awful publicity surrounding them like The War Z( Now called Infestation: survivor series) gave early adopter Steam keys.

First of all, do we really need another thread on this topic? Aren't you sort of contributing to the thing that you are against? I mean there are already 12 threads discussing this, yet you found the need to start another one. I'm assuming that you didn't bother to read all (or any) of those threads in the entirety because you would realize this is about more than just a dog. I am not going to repeat everything I have said in the other posts, but I encourage you to educate yourself on this topic before posting about it any further.

I never said that people were entitled winers. I just don't understand why people are so upset. It's just a vanity pet, the name alone gives you all the answers you need on if you "need it".

Vanity - excessive pride in or admiration of one's own appearance or achievements.

It is a pet to show where you bought your copy. Why does it matter so much?

I am not mad or upset, I don't even think the people who want it are "entitled winers". I just can't wrap my head around the rage. Of something so small.

@Hofi814, I wasn't directly addressing you so much as the general tone some in this thread have adopted since your Original Post.

There's really two issues here. One is the integration with Steam, which maters a lot to certain people and isn't being done in a way very friendly to current customers.

The other is that people have been asking for a dog pet since day one. Now it is being offered, but literally only to new accounts. At this time, it's not even possible (as I understand it) to buy the new IE and integrate it with an existing account. Current customers have been requesting something that they are currently locked out of. Again, this is not being handled in a way friendly to current customers.

I don't really care about the dog myself, but I understand those who do. I will say, though, that if the dog had been offered in the original IE, I would have bought that. Since I had no interest in the Imperial race or the mudcrab, I bought the Palomino instead. Even if they did make an IE with the dog available to current customers, I probably wouldn't buy it. But I understand that people would, that people want it, and that locking them out of that is bad customer service and bad business.

    A) Never said I was against anything *Maybe you should educate yourself on this topic before posting about it any further.*

    B) I didn't know that you were the ZOS moderator for the boards. I forgot that you are required to read AND post on my threads.

    C) I did read them. The point about the trading cards still same theory applies. I don't understand what the big deal is. Both the cards and the dog are digital things that you can not take with you around. Nor do they keep you from any part of the game that is content.

    D) "Yet you found the need to start another one.". Here is my answer to that http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGQaH3-LK54
