I would give thanks that I already have a Nostromo and a Naga that I much prefer compared to playing with a gamepad.

    Bingo.

I wouldn't play with a controller even if ZOS offered me a free pet dog to do so.

Same. Zero interest in 'controller support' here.

I already play ESO with an Xbox360 controller (wired) and Xpadder. IMHO inbuilt controller support would just screw things up for those of us who prefer to user our own custom profiles. BTW, the steam controller appears to use batteries, which means (sod's law) it will stop working during a trial. Anyway, who in their right mind would want to play on Steam? With their software flapping about between ESO and the computer the frame-rate in Cyrodiil would probably drop to minus figures.

Yea my friend was playing ESO on controller from day 1, did all the work himself to make it happen. With only 5 abilities per bar it's not nearly as difficult as other MMO's which require many, many buttons.

I will always use a mouse and keyboard.

Hey, all. Just as a reminder, we recently announced on our Update 3 API Patch Notes thread for PTS that we're in the early stages of adding PC support for gamepad input. While not enabled yet, this is something we're working on.

Already know how to use a mouse/keyboard. Why would I ever care about controllers?

for those saying why use a controller I use one now through PgP and works much better then mouse and keyboard. That being said I always played skyrim with an xbox 360 controller too. Is easier on my wrists because otherwise my left wrist hurts after a few hours using the keyboard.

Controller is better at what? Being slow and inaccurate?

You can have your controller move pretty quick, and unlike skyrim this game you do not have to be accurate at all hitboxes are *** huge.

Slow in what sense--like the FPS in PvP?

Better then getting my fingers knotted up on the keyboard. But...I'll believe it when I see it if I'm still playing then. Fortunately kiting with my new NB Blood Rogue has saved the game twice for me now so maybe I'll still be playing solo months from now.

If ESO proves successful on the consoles in several months I'll be ready to seriously consider giving up high-end PC gaming all together--maybe, we'll see.

PC profiling software (Xpadder. Pinnacle, etc) allows a controller to be fully customised. This includes speeding up its responsiveness to that of a mouse. BTW, have you ever used an Xbox360 gamepad to play on the PC? If not you are commenting from a position of ignorance. On ESO using a game pad for combat works just fine.

    er...

I don't know about you, but I'd be very happy to have a controller.

The first thing I would do is put it straight on my big HDTV, sit back in my big comfy leather sofa and enjoy, perhaps even do a bit of questing in first person mode, maybe even ask the wife to fetch me a nice cold beer from the fridge... at which point I'd get a kick in the shin and have to fetch my own beer.

Because I started play games on Tablet, so I stopped play ESO. On tablet isn't compatible play with keyboard and mouse on the sofa or on the bed. Some people don't know how to use controller so that why they don't play. All the time you need to spot advantages and disadvantages. Also they didn't find right controller which they like. I am using PS3 Dual Shock on my Tablet. Also I will buy PS4 Controller when they resolve issues with battery life. This game doesn't have dozens keyboard command, so is very good solution to make it controller support. And also if someone know that mean HTPC and SteamOS Console so they will understand what about I am talking. Extra players are extra income. You don't lose players if you add controller support.

An analog stick will never be as accurate or as responsive as a mouse. It's not not possible with the way they work. Analog sticks have dead zones, acceleration, etc. built in which means you might be able to move your camera as fast as a mouse user but you will never be as accurate due to these things.

I'm not anti-controller and I am happy to see they are adding native support to the game, but let's not kid ourselves here. A controller is used for sofa gaming(aka comfort) or if you have some sort of disability that prevents you from properly using a KB+mouse.Outside of that there are really no legitimate reasons to grab a controller over a KB+mouse when given the option. An exception to that statement would of course be poor console ports.

I'm already emulating so it wouldn't matter.

That being said, "if" it did happen, I would google the keymap to see what layout they came up with and maybe modify mine.
